It is identified that properly planned employment practices is helpful for the employees to achieve proper WL-balance. It is indirectly useful in making significant improvement in the business of the banks. After changing the working environment of the banks, women employees should also get an equal employment opportunity. Thus, through WL-balance, banks are able to provide various opportunities to women as well (Chuang, Donegan, Ganon and Wei, 2011). Married women are facing more problems in comparison to female employees for working with an organization. Working women play an important role in an organization. Women employees are mostly placed as human resource department and customer relationship department.

The former is also referred to as work interferes with family” (WIF) while the latter is also known as “family interferes with work” (FIW). In other words, from the scarcity or zero-sum perspective, time devoted to work is construed as time taken away from one’s family life. Work/life programs existed in the 1930s. Generally, for job in banking and other banks they required qualified and well experienced people. In south east Rajasthan, banks are hiring more women, who are young, more ambitious and highly educated. But the main question is can these women strike a good WL-balance? Banks are trying to appoint more women in their organization just because of many different aspects of women. According to a survey women workforce in Indian banks is just only 15% as compared to the total workforce. For increasing woman workforce in Indian banks, banks have to make some changes according to them. Circumstances and amenities for men employee and women employee should be different. Basic amenities should be provided for all women. Working culture and environment is more important for women. (WLB A Guide for Organization by Claire McCartney
Typically, society and family are the forerunners on what is believed by each new generation, leaving little room for change. Having a system based in tradition could, and most likely will, result in poor outcomes. Traditionally, women are seen as the weaker sex, the homemaker. This began to pose a problem when there became need for women to go out and find work in order to keep their families and themselves alive. Within the United States, immigration played a role in this.
It is one drop of water, one mistake, that ripples outward until we don’t even realize it is there anymore. Brent’s one mistake travels with him, rippling far away from home, in both direct and indirect ways. Whirligig, the novel, by Paul Fleischman demonstrates how one small choice can lead to many consequences, but direct and indirect, that we may never even be aware of. Brent knows he has impacted many other people, but throughout the book he discovers that it also impacted himself.
In the years 600 B.C.E. to 600 C.E., empires like Han China and Mauryan/ Gupta India shared resemblance in having patriarchal societies, but contrast in how they choose to control their empire through the use of laws, religion, military, and education. For numerous years, civilization has been led by men and Han Dynasty and the Indian empires are no exception to that concept. Men have been in power since 3500 B.C.E. when agriculture carved a road to social structures and inequality. For instance, in 206 B.C.E. to 220 C.E., the Han Dynasty had a series of men ruling over the empire: Liu Bang, Han Wudi, and even a two-year-old boy inherited the throne, however, Wang Mang took that position. All of them men, not all are even qualified to rule,
Which character in the book is your favorite, and why? Do you like characters who are sympathetic, or funny, or irreverent, or daring, or what? My favorite character in the book is Wes’ mother. She is willing to sacrifice her time and energy, work hard at her job, and think and do the best thing for her children to protect them, even if it means extra work to lead them to success. I believe, that without her caring and compassionate personality, Wes could easily have had the same story as “the other Wes.”
Justifying the FLQ by enforcing the War Measures Act was not necessary because the basic rights of people were violated in the process, as it gave law enforcement the right to search, seize, and arrest anybody without sound reasoning, doing more harm than good. Yes, the FLQ was unpredictable, dangerous, and uncontrollable, but the situation did not needed to be handled the way it was, as it invaded the privacy of citizens, and took away their basic rights. The Front de Libération du Québec kidnapped two government officials, carried out many bombings, and caused incidents resulting in injuries or even death, showing terrorist-like characteristics, put lots of pressure on Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau. He introduced the War Measures Act to
In the matrilineal descent, women are the heads of their house and usually make decisions that have to do with business. In this system the brothers and sisters of the wife inherit the property rather than the husband’s son. In a patrilineal system the responsibility falls in the male members and authority over the children is up to the father or his elder brother. Since the Neolithic Revolution there has been evidence of new and specialized social roles. For Havilland states, "...egalitarian societies everyone has about the same rank and shares equally in the basic resources"(pg.242).

For example: “Father – “here dad” to child”. Women play a major role in Noongar hierarchy. Woman are the caregivers and are responsible for the economic, social and political situations of the family. Moort relationships are considered very socially advanced in terms of equality and
The ELL population is rapidly growing, and it is important that teachers are equipped and ready to teach and assess these ELLs. Assessing ELLs is important because the assessments tell teachers how to make instructional decisions, and how much the child knows and can do (Lenski. 2006, P. 25). It is important for teachers to make sure that the ELL students are continually developing English competence and acquiring content knowledge. Because of the No Child Left Behind act, there are assessment mandates that all teacher must follow, like the Title 1 that requires ELLs attending public schools to be assessed in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and they must also be included in statewide standardized testing. The ELLs are at a disadvantage
A gap is growing between family and work. This problem can be focused down to three main things: the strive for perfection, health, and technological
INTRODUCTION. Sexism towards women in the workplace also known as occupational sexism is one of the oldest form of discrimination against women. Despite increasing campaigns on gender equality and feminist movements worldwide, working women continue to fight for equality especially in white-collar setings. Though there has been profound progress through the years, working women continue to face more challenges as compared to men both in the western as well as developing countries. Studies now show that the Equal Pay Act passed in the United States in 1963 to abolish gender based salary differences is not being enforced as women continue to earn less than their male counterparts in the same field (Campos,2015).
The part and role in which women played in their society significantly varies throughout the world, depending on the place and region. However, they all share a common similarity in which men are the most dominant in every aspect of society, therefore, men are perceived to have more authority and power than women. In the comparison of ancient civilizations and modern times, it is significant how the rights and roles of women have positively changed, giving women more chances and opportunities in society, therefore, influencing and impacting society in many beneficial ways as well as, nowadays, women and men are finally seen as
From one perspective, it might serve to raise the status and value of women in management but it additionally works in ways that add to women’s underestimation in management. In this manner ladies need to be more practical and important supporters of the senior management in development, not by doing low- paid work on essential jobs, pushing through the ‘glass walls’ to become leaders in their own particular
According to the famous sociologists Sylvia Walby, patriarchy is “a system of social structure and practices in which men dominate, oppress and exploit women”. Women’s exploitation is an age old cultural phenomenon of Indian society. The system of patriarchy finds its validity and sanction in our religious beliefs, whether it is Hindu, Muslim or any other religion. For instance, as per ancient Hindu law giver Manu, “Women are supposed to be in the custody of their father when they are children, they must be under the custody of their husband when married and under the custody of her son in old age or as widows.
When that resource, time, is being used to focus on gender verses productivity the company as a whole suffers. By achieving gender equality in the workplace, companies should start to see a significant amount of financial progression. According to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency, “It can also improve national productivity and economic growth” (WGEA). This statistic can make for a great motivator in the business world. Not only can removing the gender factor reduce the number of barriers associated with females, but it can show that a company is willing to give every employee an equal chance which can lead to attracting newer potential experienced employees of both genders.
