The Uruguay Round was aimed at trade liberalization through the removal of the remaining barriers to free and fair trade. The final Act embodying the results of the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Trade Negotiations at Marrakesh of 15 April 1994 established the World Trade Organization. WTO is an inter-governmental organization, nonetheless, the rules apply to the business and focus on how producers of goods and services, exporters, and importers conduct their business. Its main function is to ensure that trade flows as smoothly, predictably and freely as possible.

From 1929 to 1945, Canada looked to become trustworthy trading partners with the United States. A way in which Canada strengthened its trade with the United States was by branching out from just being trading partners with Britain. Even though Britain was Canada’s primary trading partner, it was not until the 1920’s that Canada began to trade with the United States. A decrease in tariffs from 1913 to 1930, and zero or near-zero tariffs imposed by the U.S Revenue Act of 1913, allowed Canadian exporters to trade freely with the United States. As a result, Canadian exports to the United States rose from $104 million in 1911 to $315 million in 1930.
Benjamin Franklin said, “No nation was ever ruined by trade.” During the early modern era, technological advancements in shipbuilding and increased knowledge on wind and current patterns made global trading possible. The increased flow of trade in the 1300s through 1800s created important social relations and economic opportunities due to the increased integration of foreign people and desire to be wealthiest and most powerful, while improving government, culture, and ideas in the modern world. Global trading increased the spread of people, which also increased the spread of religion and culture.

I. Global trade has interconnected the US to regions of the globe as never before. Throughout the world, situations occur that the United States government has to decide if it is in our national interest to intervene with military force. The common basis of national interest can run a gamut including: protecting access to natural resources, protecting allied countries, protecting US friendly national leaders, protecting American citizens and overthrowing tyrants. The United States, tends to portray itself as a neutral “peace
Warfare is a very controversial topic and when speaking on any war, one cannot possibly state that one isolated event solely attributed to its start. From the time students are introduced to the War of 1812 in high school, it has mainly been taught that the War of 1812 was caused by the taking hostage of American sailors by the British Navy. While American sailors being taken hostage may have been a major breaking point that ultimately set the tone for the declaration of the War of 1812, there were many other incidents that added fuel to an already burning fire. In this paper the writer will set out to discuss the events that seemingly had a part in the start of the War of 1812 and how the United States was affected after the war ended.
Trade Liberalization by definition is reducing trade barriers so that goods and services can move around the world more easily. These agreements have helped many people. So something that exemplifies trade liberalization would be the WTO(World Trade Organization) it helps open up trading but also if you do not abide by the rules you will be fined. COP21 which was held on Nov. 330 th 2015 and lasted two weeks aimed to devise a legally binding agreement to cap global temperature rises to under 2 degrees Celsius, below preindustrial levels. Negotiations and agreements which have been brewing over several years, were finally settled in a time efficient and effective conference, hosting 196 parties which all participated in the agreement to decrease the use of fossil fuels which result in the development of greenhouse gases by 2050. The agreement functions upon the framework that each nation is to establish a conformable and realistic reduction target individually, with no penalty present for countries which fail to abide by their self‐imposed targets. Wealthy developed nations like the United
These include a general emphasis on consensus-based decision making, which tends to disadvantage developing countries which may have no permanent representation at the WTO’s Geneva headquarters or have delegations much smaller than those of developed countries, or they may be excluded from the club-like meetings that are usually dominated by developed countries. Such subtle biases and the general lack of transparency and accountability in its decision making process have led to the WTO being described as a rich man’s club.” (Andrew Heywood 2011) for me, I agree to that because it was seen in the actions of the WTO that they have a bias treatment between the poor and rich countries wherein when it comes to trade they favored the rich countries rather than the poor one. QUESTION1 MULTILATERAL APPROACH TO INTERNATIONAL TRADE AS ADVOCATED BY THE WTO INTRODUCTION A multilateral approach is a treaty that refers to trade between numerous countries. It was the main activity associated with the 1947 GATT which took place during international conferences, whereby legislators came together to reject out and reach agreement on numerous trade issues. In total, there were 8 conferences under the former GATT. The first 6 of these conferences, ending with the Kennedy Round in 1967, concentrated mainly on tariff allowances.
At the same time, the world has also become interdependent due to trade relations. Major countries in the world trade with each other so as to ensure maximum productivity. Trade laws have been established through international organizations dictating the extent of trade relations. Imports
It is clearly that people in the world are the consumers and the prices that we pay for the prices, products and the necessities are affected by the trade policies. The WTO will assure that the members will not misuse the policies made between countries by controlling the policies they made thus the consumers will have the benefit for that. It also stimulates the economic growth. Since the WTO introducing ‘non-tariff barriers’, it creates more jobs as the lower barriers good in employment. More jobs will be offered to the public as the traders will have more opportunities especially it opened to
