Mahatma Gandhi said it best when he said to “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” For a while now, I’ve been considering taking a leap, and going back to school to pursue a degree in accounting. After a great deal of thought, I feel like now is the time to start becoming that change I wish to see, and I hope to start here at Colorado State University.
After I graduated high school, I remained in constant work. I was a waitress at Denny’s while I attended school, and had continued doing that for a year after graduation. At the time, I was interested in going to school for nursing. I decided that it would be a good idea to start getting my feet wet in the health industry, which led me to becoming a Medication Technician at a nursing

With that being said, I have a couple of professional goals, and quite a few personal goals. One of my professional goals is to become a Certified Public Accountant. For almost two years now, I have been doing extensive research on the career. I’ve been looking up the schooling I need, talking to local accountants that I know, and obsessing with all the pros and cons to the job. After everything, I have finally made the decision to pursue accounting as a career, and I will strive for that goal until I get it. After I become a CPA, my goal is to further my education and study business. I would like to expand my horizons with accounting, and work towards becoming a Chief Executive Officer in a company of my choice. As far as personal goals, I just want to be able to comfortably take care of my loved ones and I. As I said before, my family means a lot to me. My dad passed away a few years ago, and my mom has had to do a lot on her own. It hasn’t always been easy for her, so I have been helping her financially throughout the years, but I would like to do so much more. In the near future, my goal is to help her with a steady income per month that can help her take care of whatever needs she has. I just want to alleviate as much stress for her as possible. I also have been doing a lot of thinking about purchasing a home. I am tired of paying rent, and it would be much nicer putting my hard-earned income into a place I can actually call my own. Lastly, I’ve been dating the man of my dreams for the past year and a half, and I have high hopes on expanding my family. However, I would like to make sure majority of my goals are met before we take that step. That is why getting my degree is extremely important to me. Being able to fulfill my dream of becoming an accountant would put me in a better position mentally and financially. It would give me peace of mind

Every dime I earn working at Reynolds Community College and every grant and scholarship I receive will go towards my passion of studying human behavior and applying everything I learn to bringing every community I can reach, a giant leap forward. After receiving my associates degree in Social a Science I decided to take a year off to work towards finding what it is that I really want to pursue. I have searched for that 'something ' that will keep me intrigued and awake all hours of the night without realizing it. I have eliminated the idea of simply working to make ends meet or finding a good job to support my family and "living" outside the 40+ hours of a weekday job. I am pursuing much more and I am confident that I have found a path leading me to wake up before my alarm clock sounds instead of praying for more time.
I am Densia Wray, a sophomore at City College majoring in Political Science and possibly Public Relations or minoring in Journalism. My decision to pursue these majors came after thoroughly enjoying my Intro to Media Communications and Intro to Political Science classes, as well as my desire to create local and societal change. Although it took a while for me to make this decision, once I started listening to what I really wanted and not what I thought was wanted from me I realized what I really want to do with my life. Ever since my first real introduction to the world and its realities in my high school English classes I knew that my purpose was not to conform to what society wants from me but to challenge society to change. Over the summer
Life has its twists and turns, but my overall life goal is simple, help others. I want to make an impact on others life, even if it is a small change. For instance, being able to hold a pencil is the difference between a student being able to graduate from Kindergarten and not be able to continue on to first grade. Being a Pediatric occupational therapist will help me make an impact on children at a very young age. Even small changes can have a large impacts, which is why I want to be that change for others.
Do you have any goals? I have many goals, but I have three main goals. My goals are to graduate high school, go to a cosmetology college, and own a beauty salon. First, my goal is to graduate high school. Graduating high school won't be easy, but if I study hard and turn in my homework on time it will go by faster.
The dream of going to college has been present since I remember. However, I lived in a low income household in Spain, and at that time my family was going through a great depression, lack of financial stability, and my parent’s relationship was not at its best; consequently, the idea of having another expense was not a priority for the family, needless to say that college was not an option. Nevertheless, life has given me the opportunity to review my priorities, make new choices and as a result, I decided to pursue a higher education. I became a displaced homemaker after my divorce in 2008 in Washington State, when I decided to move away and start a new life in Colorado. We were only us, my daughter and me.
Now that I have my mind set on my aspirations, I hope to practice the qualities needed to be a triumphant dentist and dental surgeon. Of course everyone wants success, wealth, and happiness in the future. My long term goal is to pursue a career in the field of dentistry and earn my DDS (doctorate in dental surgery)
I was able to learn how to balance work with school and still managed to keep my grades up; this was a great accomplishment for me. My moms determination to provide for us and give us a better life made me want to strive high. With this determination I would like to pursue a major in business. This area interests me due to its broad opportunities in the workforce.
Some people dream to be a successful and famous public speaker. Others want to be a millionaire or a billionaire. Singers as well as actors wish to be successful in their career and become famous. Teachers may hope to succeed in imparting knowledge to their students. Many students simply would like to pass examinations or have good grades in school.
While working full- time as a technician, I attended college and quickly took all the needed courses to apply into a nursing program. I was attending college and had a full time job. Having both challenged and excited me, since I was one step closer to having my career; just as I promised my grandmother. I finally got accepted into nursing school, graduated, and became a Registered Nurse. Every single patient I cared for, I used my past experience with my family, and used that as my foundation for my bedside manner.
The great teachers I had truly instilled in me the importance of education and I feel it is my job to pass that on. As far as personal goals I hope to move to the Fargo-Moorhead area to begin my career and be closer to my boyfriend of seven years. It will be the first time that I don’t live in the same town as my parents and although it will be a big change it will be a great experience. Once moving to the Fargo-Moorhead area I hope to get married within the next couple years and start a family down the
My interest in Accounting stemmed from my optimistic expectation about career development in this field. Accounting is so important in the business world that only on the basis of accounting information, management is able to make investment decisions, and optimize internal operation. Thus, it is widely applied to every business sector. However, due to a strange combination of circumstances, I was matriculated by Biology and Medical Engineering College, instead of the Economic and Management College, in which I could accumulate the knowledge that would allow me to realize my career ambition. Changing major was not easy to operate in our university.
When it comes to my personal goals I have long-term and short-term goals, as a long term goal I want to have the opportunity to invest in fliping houses as a job to save money for the future. As far as short-term goals I want to save up money for a short period of time to make me a responsibile adult and It would also help me pay for my college funds and the insurance on my car. As a senior we always hear our family members asking what college we plan on attending and what we’re going to major in.
I intend to pursue my goal and set financial stability for myself. In the next couple of years I plan to graduate college and pursue my dreams to be great. I will be financially stable and overall feel good about the decision I have made . I need to stay focused so can accomplish my goals in life to be successful I know everything I work hard for will pay off . Being able to do what I love most is all I need in life.
My future goal is to be a Diagnostic Sonography Technician. The aspiration I have is to make my parents proud. I will be the first child in my home to graduate from high school and go to college and continue studying. Not only would I be making my parents proud, but going to college always guarantees you have a better job, with a better pay this means I would be able to help my parents out with a lot more than just a bill. When my parents are to be an old age my goal is for them not to have to worry about expenses, because I would be covering it.
