Problems with Publishing Books

In the year of 2009, only 5% of books that were getting published at the time were being done by educational institutions such as universities, colleges, and schools. “21% of the books were self-published by authors (Statistics for 2009)”. The type of publication that was done the most was 52% which was being done by publishing houses. With more and more authors making stories or telling them from that year to recent years, there’s a need for proper publication of their finished works.

This visual aid shows what types of distribution was publishing books in the year of 2009. The most noticeable one was the commercial publishing houses while the smallest was the publication getting done by the government.

A recent problem that some current authors are having is getting their books published online and in book stores across the country once they finish their book. Some authors publish their books themselves whereas others use certified publishing companies if they don’t have the time or the proper knowledge to distribute their own books themselves. There are many websites out on the internet and newspaper outlets that say what are wrong with certain types of publication companies that are still being used around when they shouldn’t, but also how to they could get started, how they can fix a problem that they are currently having with it, or how to get the help they need in order to publish their works and be successful in their career
