Incas and why they were the best culture To some people, the Mayan culture was the best because they wrote using syllables and sounds, or the Aztecs because they stabilized their buildings on mud and controlled the flow of water to the mainland and the island but, the Incas didn’t even write and still were able to make incredible creations, such as building with near perfect stonework and stabilizing their buildings without mortar or cement. (worksheet) That's part of the reason the Incas were the best. Inca was a great culture in more ways than one, the Incas lived atop the Andes Mountains in South America, near Lake Titicaca. These strong rulers/emperors helped Inca be a better civilization, they demanded everyone learn the same language and made a system of roads that connected all parts of the empire. (info packet) The Incas were based on war and they made sure they had the weapons to win one. Army and Soldiers All young men served in the army. Armed with clubs, bows and arrows, spears, and slings they had a good war strategy along with hand-to-hand combat these attributes made them good fighters and very precise with the weapons that they used. Thus resulting in winning in most wars they partook in. (worksheet) The Incas believed that when you die, everything you die with comes with you. They kept their dead as mummies and made sure to be peaceful and careful. (worksheet) Writing and Inventions The way they wrote was they didn’t. The Incas kept track of numerous things by using knots on strings called quipus(worksheet) They made many impressive inventions given the time they ruled and were the best empire because of that.
