How did your country gained its independance?

Mexico gain its independence in August 24, 1821 when a man named Viceroy Juan de O’Donojú signed the treaty of Córdoba which gave Mexico its independence. Before the treaty was signed Mexico won the war of 1821. The people of Mexico now live freely and not governed by the laws of Spain. The day is known as “Día de la Independencia” meaning independance day. The day is celebrated on September 16th.

There are many major festival celebrated in mexico, for example they celebrate El Grito de Independencia which is there independence day. This is on september 16 each year to celebrate their independence. The first year this was celebrated was in 1860 when they won their independence.Another festival they celebrate is Dia de la Raza which means the day of race.
This festival reflect on mexico old and new roots. It is celebrated on October 12 each year. Las Posadas is also another big festival . It is celebrated on december 16 through the 24 the journey that Joseph and Mary made from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a safe refuge where Mary could give birth to the baby Jesus.
