The teams was fortunate enough to draft two hall of fame players. The first was John Stockton in 1984. John Stockton is considered to be one of the greatest guards to play the game of basketball. He holds an all time NBA career record for assists which is 15,806. He also holds the NBA career record for total steals at 3265. Both teams from different eras and a different style of game. The Warriors play an up-tempo basketball game and the 2001 Lakers played more of a slow tempo give the ball to the post type of game. Both teams had quite a few all stars on their roster the Warriors had 3 stars on the team and the Lakers had 2 stars. They both had role players that played a key role in their teams.
