INDIRA NOOYI When Indira Nooyi became the CEO of PepsiCo, the primary goal advocated by her was to achieve "Performance with Purpose." She carried out a number of measures to improve the sustainability of the company 's operations and image by focusing on advancements in the health implications of PepsiCo 's products. This is what she has to say about leadership: "Leadership is tough to define and good leadership even harder. As a leader, I am tough on myself and I raise the standard for everybody; however, I am very caring because I want people to excel at what they are doing so that they can aspire to be me in the future.
