Death is introduced immediately as the narrator of the book, and he reveals some key information about his personality. One of his most prominent characteristics is how he feels bored and irritated by his job, a feeling we can relate to; "The trouble is, who could ever replace me? Who could step in while I take a break in your stock-standard resort-style holiday destination...?" In this quote, Death is shown to be more human than his usual image suggests.
Recovery Through Conflict Conflict is everywhere, everyone has to deal with conflict in some way, shape, or form everyday. In Judith Guest's, Ordinary People, Conrad has dealt with several major internal conflicts. Even though Conrad was released from the hospital after an attempted suicide, he was not fully recovered. With the help of Dr. Berger and Calvin, Conrad was able to figure out his internal conflicts. In Ordinary People, Judith Guest illustrates that Conrad can go through recovery and change through the communication with Dr.Berger and Calvin.
The risks of failure can come from many different reasons, such as “changing demographics, accommodating the unrealized demand for new services and products, market consolidation to gain market share in selected regions, and realignment of the product portfolio that requires selected unit closures” (Parsa, Self, Njite, & King, 2005). The ever-shifting trends can also be a risk to a restaurant if the trends move away from the concept of the restaurant. Market saturation of restaurants can also be detrimental to a business, if there are too many business’s in the area serving the same style menu as you, then you could lose out on a lot of potential customers in the slew of competition (Scott, ). Poor management is another reason a new restaurant can fail. This includes poor planning of labor and ordering of inventory.
In the essay “Working at Wendy’s,” Joey Franklin states, “I only applied here because I knew I would get hired, says Sara the first night I work with her.” This situation related to my experience when I am hunting the job. In that time, I do not care what my job is as long as I realized that I need to help my family to pay my tuition fees and to other expenses. However, on the first day of my job I am not sure how to associate with another employee and to communicate to the customer because I am
A Victorian-era chef was like a juggler. A juggler is someone who entertains wealthier people by throwing and controlling multiple balls in the air. They require intense focus and skill as to not let any of the balls drop, ruining their act. As for Victorian chefs, they often had many undertakings in a wealthy person’s household. Effective leaders must learn to embrace conflict because it is an inexorable part of human interactions and without intervention, it seldom finds its own productive solutions (Myatt, 2012). The failure to address conflict early on will likely lead to workplace acrimony, disengagement and poor communication and cooperation (Myatt, 2012). The story of the conflict between Cindy and Dr. Jones is an excellent case to analyze the elements of conflict and conflict management.

Time passes really fast and I have already worked as a part-time waiter in this Japanese restaurant for two and a half years.
