Individual Reflection: As the Art Director, I am accountable for studying the concept and visual ideas for the product. At first, I found it very difficult to come up with something ‘unique’ yet not too crazy or inapplicable due to the large amount of innovative products introduced before. Then, to seek inspiration, I decided to start out by observing the people around me, especially the students in my university who were yawning during lecture or sleeping on the couches outside the classrooms. That was when I began to think of a product that could boost students’ energy as I believed university life should not be full of exhaustion but fun and experience. Later, after discussing with my teammates, the idea of the energy drink eFresh was born …show more content…
The first concept worth mentioning is color symbolism. After enrolling into this class, I have gained some basic knowledge about color such as it serves the purposes of giving spatial quality to the picture and creating a sense of aesthetics and harmony. However, what appeals me the most is its ability to symbolize ideas and express some certain kinds of emotions. I recall one activity we had in this class, which was about painting the colors we thought were matching the words written on the board that described moods and feelings. We got both right and wrong answers and learnt that different colors symbolized different meanings. As a result, the symbolism of color helped us choose the most suitable color scheme for our promotional materials. It contributed to the use of green and white as the theme colors of our advertisements, for they are symbols of life and freshness (‘The Visual Elements’ …show more content…
Through the class activity of sorting different pictures into suitable categories, we found out that geometric shapes were regular and predictable while biomorphic shapes were nature-inspired and organic. The last one, amorphous shapes were irregular and hard to define. When it came to applying the concept of shape and form, we crossed out the first type and focused on the biomorphic shapes and amorphous shapes as they could be created through incidental influence from nature (‘Shape, Form and Space’ 2014). Therefore, we took advantage of the amorphous shapes of water splash to express animation, freshness and unlimited energy. Additionally, the random characteristics of the water splash could be associated with creativity and freedom, which we were hoping our target market could find

There are many literary devices used across stories. Color imagery is one of these literary devices that is used when colors give objects a symbolic meaning. In the short story “St. Lucy’s Home for Girls Raised by Wolves” by Karen Russell, girls who have been raised as wolves are thrust into the unknown as they are forced to adapt to human society. Their childhood was spent living with wolves, however they are taken in by nuns of St. Lucy’s who attempt to assimilate them into the human world through different phases. Throughout the story, color imagery is used to emphasize the key theme of unity, establish the conflicted tone, and metaphorically develop Claudette’s character.
I came into my first college writing class feeling prepared thanks to you and your investment in me as a student in your AP Lang class. I developed as a writer more than I ever had in your class, and it definitely helped me in my college writing class this semester. I already knew how important it was to revise and continuously critically think about my writing, as well as the importance of multiple drafts and peer review. My English 110 class this semester was very similar to yours because we also did multiple drafts where I could revise my paper as many times as needed. The big difference was that the focus was on different genres and how to appeal to those, which was something new compared to my high school English courses.
In first glance of the Grey Goose “Fly Beyond” ad, the asymmetrical balance and positioning of the product catch your attention. The Grey Goose bottle setup is shifted slightly to the right on a marble slab table, while the accompanying text is placed overhead on the upper left, creating harmony and unity — evenly distributing the ad’s content. Paying attention to the colours, there are no outstanding or unfitting colors that seem out of place. The colours mainly found in the ad — grey, white, and different shades of blue, are heavily exaggerated in the table’s contents and in both the background hues and text color as well. With the use of shallow depth of field, the ad executes heavy use of contrast.
J’Lyrick Woods Writing Assignment #1 AR-170 2-D/3-D 2-D-P.50-Figure 1.4-Mel Bochner, Vertigo This conceptual artist has taken basic elements of art such as lines and color and has created this amazing two dimensional artwork, Vertigo. In this artwork the artist uses regular lines, a rhythm of diagonal lines, and a slight tint of an orange in the background of the actual lines. The different directions, overlapping, and crossing of the lines, help imply the chaos and disorder the artist is trying to reveal through this painting.
Before the start of this class, I overused common imagery such as “shine bright like a diamond” to try to convey my feelings. Writing with clichéd imagery dilutes the reader’s attachment to the story because emotions are absent. In this class, I have learned that I have to reflect on my true feelings and emotions before writing. Hopefully allows my readers to feel what I once felt. My favorite imagery that I have written in this class was the spider web in the essay about my grandfather.
The colors in the novel bear a rich symbolic and emotional potential. In this novel, the author makes extensive use of color, which acquire the symbolic value and serve as a tool for the disclosure of the artistic world. Colors become an integral part of the character of the world and reveal their nature, serve as a means of an opposition of some characters to each other. In addition, every writer, along with the traditional associations, also has its own individual vision of color symbolism. Therefore, in order to understand the true meaning of the work, it is necessary to understand these implications.
In this booklet we want to challenge you to think about reflective practice and how you might use reflective practice in your workplace to improve the way you practice, your working relationships and ultimately achieve better outcomes for you and the young children you work with. We all reflect but in different ways and about different things. Often the reflection provides the “story of the day” that we may muse overby ourselves or tell a sympathetic ear, but ultimately the “story of the day” we want others
Color is a huge part of how people view different emotions and feelings. For an example, when people see the color black, they may feel darkness and loneliness. Using color as a description in books can really help the reader better understand what the author is trying to get across. Color can mean so much more than shades and tints, it can show true meaning and emotion. It's proven that warm colors trigger thoughts of happiness, energy, and optimism.
What do colors mean? Colors represent different things, trigger different memories. Colors have a wide variety of meanings for different people. Colors spark different things for people. Some relate the color pink to a girl and blue to a boy, other people may relate blue to sadness.
My Reflection of Real Talk for Real Teachers Real Talk for Real Teachers written by Rafe Esquith has been thought provoking as well as entertaining to read. I have learned a great deal from reading this book and I hope to implement a few of his ways in my future classroom. I can relate too many of the stories that have been told in this book because this is real life in a school environment. I would like to break my summary down chapter by chapter.
Rather than using a display of colour for the simple purpose of "spectacle", colours help drive the narrative and become significant "characters" and fundamental to the development of the story, rather than just mere parts of the mise-en-scene. The idea of colour as a language in which each of them help convey an idea and an
This guide is used to show how each color can evoke a different emotion from the audience. Blue gave off the feeling of dependability, strength, and trust worthiness. These are all things that someone would most likely expect out of their deodorant brand. The essay also brought up statistical studies regarding the favorite colors of men and women. This resulted in blue coming in first place of which 35% of those tested chose blue.
One of the unique aspects of the Department of Child Development and Family Relations is that many of the department’s large core courses offer teaching assistant opportunities to undergraduate students. Teaching assistant opportunities are valuable for undergraduate students to decide whether to apply as a graduate teaching position, great addition to a resume, and for a letter of recommendation. From my teaching assistant experience, I was able to fully grasp the concepts of middle childhood development, form a new appreciation for professors and teaching assistants, and reflect on myself as a student. In addition, I had the opportunity to strengthen several essential skills such as organizational skills, leadership skills, and communication
