Work values clarifications are those principles that have to do with one occupation or job. It is an important part of an individual that if one don 't take it into consideration when choosing a career or an employment situation, one will have little chance of finding job satisfaction.
Work value clarification is essential and can be divided into intrinsic and extrinsic. Intrinsic values have to do with the actual tasks involved in practice a particular occupation or doing a job. Career self-efficacy on the other hand, can be defined as people’s judgments of their abilities to perform career behaviours in relation to career development, choice, and adjustment (Anderson & Betz, 2001). Career self-efficacy provides important information relevant to understanding the complex career development process (Niles & Sowa, 1992). Career self-efficacy beliefs can lead to avoidance of or motivation toward career behaviours (Betz & Taylor, 2001). Low career self-efficacy can cause people to procrastinate making career decisions, and may delay them from following through with a decision once it has been made (Betz, 1992). Even if a low career self-efficacy belief is based on a realistic and accurate assessment of an individual’s capabilities or past experiences, it often leads to a lack of full awareness of his or her potential to successfully pursue different careers (Betz & Hackett, 1981). An intrinsic value can be defined as the true value of something, as opposed to its book value. In other words, intrinsic values are deeper values that can be held dearly. Values are extremely crucial when it comes to nature and the environment. Intrinsic values can be applied to nature because many people, such as naturalists cherish the natural environments, while others do not. Some don’t view nature and its resources as precious because they are too busy thinking about what nature has to offer.
Principles and values at the workplace include
The company’s values are: teamwork, learning, having fun, ethics and integrity, empowerment and accountability, and agility. (Grainger, About Us, 2015) Teamwork refers to trusting others and valuing their teammates and/or customers opinions. The learning value component means to acquire information from both the successes and failures. The company defines the value of having fun by creating a healthy work-life balance and celebrating when appropriate. Ethics and integrity is self-explanatory, being fair and consistent in every encounter.
This theory is about career decision marketing and development based on social learning. Career decisions are the product of an uncountable number of learning experiences made possible by encounters with the people, institutions and events in a person’s particular environment. Krumboltz propose that people choose their careers based on what they have learned. The four main factors that influence career choice are genetics influences, environmental conditions and events, learning experiences and task approach skills. Genetic influences are inherited rather than learned such as physical appearance.
Organisational values can be described as a “belief that a specific mode of conduct is preferable to an opposite or contrary mode of conduct” (Rokeach, 1973). Some organisations describe them as their ‘guiding beacons’ whilst others describe them as part of their philosophy. As Diageo explains ‘Our values are not just words on a page – they are in our DNA. They underpin everything we do and are reflected in the day-to-day behaviour of the company.’ –
Many individuals have certain work values that help them excel more than others, and that’s what makes one different and unique from one another. Having certain work values can determine a lot, it can determine what kind of person some one is and what interests them the most. The work values that I ranked the highest on Prioritizing Your Values, assessment were being prestigious, having self expression, interest, high achievement, commitment/ work ethnic. I will use the values that I scored the highest on the assessment to the best of my ability to reach my goal. Incorporating these values will help me reach my goal, by applying them into my daily life at work when I become a registered nurse in the future.

A mission statement explains what it is that the organization does. It describes what purpose the organization serves. It serves as a guide for those within the organization, as well as stakeholders from outside the organization the purpose and goals of the organization. A vision statement is where the organization sees itself going in the next 5 to 10 years.
My View Points on the Social Work Ethics Values I define values as someone’s personal view of what they feel is important in their life, and the way they act towards that value. Values affect people in different ways. An example of a value that someone views as important would be no sex before marriage.
