“How can you achieve the Production Target?” “Can you Identify and alleviate bottlenecks in achieving the same?” “What about the Work-In-Process?” “Can you justify your strategic throughput improvement roadmap?” These were some of the questions asked by my Project Manager during first few weeks as a working professional. I was a bit confused and had no answer. Later, reading up on these questions made me aware of the concepts in my work. While working for a year, I was involved in process improvement projects using Discrete Event Simulation across diverse industry verticals such as Automotive OEMs, Third party Logistics Company, Specialty Alloy Manufacturer.
