Background on Industrial Pollution The occurrence of the Industrial revolution served as the stepping stone for human innovation into the 21st century (Sneha, 2001). The fast progress of technology and rapid advancement in science triggered the start of manufacturing age. But this also gave birth to another effect, industrial pollution. (Sneha, 2001). Any form of pollution that can trace its immediate source to industrial practices is known as industrial pollution. The current study investigates the correlation between the effects of industrial pollution in a form of air pollution and cognitive ability of students in the urban areas. According to Lehrer (2009), long-term exposure to air pollution leads to the decline in the cognitive performance of urban students. These various forms in which Industrial Pollution can take form already caused large-scale catastrophe (Sneha, 2001). First, water pollution has as of now rendered numerous ground water assets useless for people. Second, Air pollution has prompted an increase in different diseases in the city which includes chronic and cerebral diseases. Thirdly, Industrial wastes contain large amounts of various chemicals which get accumulated on the top layer of the soil resulting in loss of fertility of the soil. Such loss of fertility ultimately results in changes in the ecological balances of the environment due to reduction in plant growth. Lastly, noise pollution can harm the mental wellbeing. The effects of industrial pollution are far reaching and liable to affect the environment for many years to come. Countries facing sudden and rapid increase of industrial pollution found it to be a serious problem which has to be prevented and brought under control
