14.01.16 – 21.01.16 During this block I was given the opportunity to take floor book for the first time. As previously mentioned, I had difficulties communicating with some of the children in the nursery. I strongly believe my communication have come a long way since reflecting on them and this improvement was presented during floor book. I was able to quickly identify that the children had a mixture of abilities when it came to understanding and answering questions.
In I-1.1 of NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct Supplement for Early Child hood Program Administrators the administrator must ensure that the children’s needs are met first priority in administrative decision making, recognizing that a child’s well-being cannot be separated from that of his/her family. Furthermore although the programs administrator/ owner of the childcare center was fond of the new worker & her taking a picture seemed innocent like a small mistake however the small mistake displaced children & caused turmoil within the twins
4a – After the delivering lessons, Miss Hannan assessed the instructional session and provided suggestions to improve upcoming lessons. 4b – Miss Hannan collaborated with the cooperating teacher for an efficient and effective process of recording and maintaining accurate assessment for each student. 4c – Miss Hannan described that parents and teachers are “ultimate teammates” in a student’s education. I learn that it is most important to focus on children when in the classroom. I relax in my work by clean up in this class. Always be available to support children and maintain an overview of what is happening throughout the program. I’m aware that I can’t leave children unsupervised and can be somewhere that have one of the teacher staff can supervise me and the group. I show initiative to assist the teacher and children during activities or transitions.
3-5 The children were at lunch and they have been given more opportunities to develop their independence skills. Lunch time was a social event and the children and staff were chatting and enjoying their food. The learning environment was tidy and the areas were set up for the children to return to after lunch and planning was evident and relevant to the children’s needs and stages of development.
The ratio of adults to children is 2:18, and it services regular children and children who can function in a general ed classroom with services. There are nine children in the class whom receive services, ranging from Seits to OT, PT and speech. The classroom runs on Pre-K curriculum and the Common Core method. Personal Reflections: I witnessed the deep respect that Ruvy has for his Seit and that his Seit has in Ruvy.
They held it really well with the children 's. The children’s carburetor with the adults well. so , they made me wait till they had all the children 's back in the building and settle down. The class i choose to observe was preschool. I wanted to see older kids behave with other childs. The stages are different from toddler to be preschool.
The teacher reacts with the children to keep them interested and moving. Some of the time the children just likes to sit in the teacher 's lap and not get involved with the other children. One day, Mrs. Lauren sat on the rug during sensory play and two of the children wanted to sit in her lap while the other children wanted to play. Sometimes the children seem to get out of control. Mrs. Lauren always makes sure that she handles the children with love and care.
I end this paper with a concise conclusion. Observation 1 • Summary Daniel is in the dining area of the childcare Centre where breakfast is being served by the teachers. There are three teachers with children ranging from 20 months to 6 years. There are 20 children at the dining area. • Evaluation
On 13th of March, I went to kindergarten to complete my child observation task. Ms. Janelle is the person in charge of the kindergarten and she introduces Nic to me. Nic is a 5 years old kid and this year is his 2nd year in the kindergarten. As I went there after their classes, I were told to help Nic with his homework and on the same time complete my task. Nic is a very active child and able to speak fluently in English and Mandarin.
The classroom that I will be observing is a Preschool classroom at KinderCare Learning Center in Bartlett, Illinois. The teacher I will be observing over the next period of time is Laura Sturgulewski. She has worked at KinderCare for 8 years, mostly in the 2 year-old room until fall of 2013, when she took the lead teaching position of the Preschool classroom. Her classroom mainly has 3 year-olds, but on occasion has a mix of 4 year-olds and transitioning 2 year-olds. The number of students in her class depends on the day, because they are a child care center some students have a part time schedule, unlike an elementary school where children attend every day.
