The Other Wes Moore is a book that tells the story of two men with the same name. Despite having similar backgrounds and facing many of the same challenges both Moores ended on very different paths in life. Through the story of the Moors the book shows many different themes including the consequences of crime, the impact of family on a person’s development, and the importance of education and opportunities. The themes of consequences of crime, the impact of family on a person’s development, and the importance of education and opportunities strongly influence the novel The Other Wes Moore. The consequences of crime are explored in The Other Wes Moore, the book shows the impact of the criminal justice systems on both lives of Moores and how it can affect many different people. On page Page 147 the other Wes Moore robbed a bank, this led to him getting sent to jail. One wes moore was able to avoid getting caught up in the criminal justice system, while the other wes was sentenced to life in prison because of a robbery. After the other wes was arrested and now he currently spends life in prison (Page 157).
