A strong bonding is necessary to succeed in counselling people who are struggling with their lives in forming relationships. Building a therapeutic rapport is an important part of a successful relationship between a client and a therapist to make the client comfortable and relaxed. The professions where interacting with the community is the main job, having the skill to build therapeutic relationships is important. The uniqueness of this relationship can have either positive or negative effects based on the way the therapist tried to build a relationship with their client. Positive relationships can be valuable to clients who are struggling to form relationships due to a trauma that has a major impact on their lives.
I learned a lot from this meeting and I feel much better now after discussing with field supervisor my future plans as a social worker.
