Dear, 8th graders
One of the most things going into high school is P.R.I.D.E. You may be asking what P.R.I.D.E is and why is it so important. Well that is why I am writing this letter. Hopefully by the end you should know what P.R.I.D.E is. You should also know why you should follow P.R.I.D.E. First things first, what does P.R.I.D.E stand for? Well it stands for prepared, respectful, intentional, diligent, and engaged. To follow the P.R.I.D.E matrix you must show all of the characteristics. As long as you know what these characteristic stand for you should be straight. Showing these characteristics will lead to your success through high school. Secondly what do you need to do to follow P.R.I.D.E? Well first be prepared make sure you’re

Well just think about how all of the P.R.I.D.E characteristics tie into everyday life. Be prepared to complete tasks, be respectful everybody, intentional whenever doing something, and diligent and engaged in life. Now you may think that P.R.I.D.E isn’t that big of a deal, and I can see how you may feel that way but trust me when I say it is important. Lastly don’t think that P.R.I.D.E is lame or a rule. A lot of upcoming freshman think that things like this are lame or have no relevance to them. In actuality P.R.I.D.E more of a life style then a rule to follow. Fact is all P.R.I.D.E is ways you should present yourself. Just characteristics you should show in everyday life. So don’t think anybody is forcing you to follow P.R.I.D.E or that P.R.I.D.E is a rule. Just think of it as a way to go about your day. I really do suggest that you follow P.R.I.D.E; it will not only help you through high school, but also everyday life. I personally feel that P.R.I.D.E is a helpful tool. I don’t think of it as something you have to follow. I think of it more as something that should just come natural. Well I hope to see you following
The National Honor Society, NHS, was officially started by the National Association of Secondary School Principals in 1921. It started in a Pittsburg high school, but quickly grew throughout the nation. NHS has maintained a long history of admitting exemplary students into the organization. NHS developed four main tenants that have helped guide the purpose, as Zeiger (n.d.) explained: "to create enthusiasm for scholarship; to stimulate a desire to render service; to promote leadership; and to develop character in the students of secondary schools". I have chosen to do the National Honors Society, because it helped me throughout my junior and senior years in high school.
This September I will be going off to high school. I will be attending Monsignor Farrell High School in Staten Island. I can’t wait to go to high school and take a big step toward adulthood. I expect a lot of things will happen in high school and I am looking forward to it.
I disagree with this decision you had made. I don’t think there is a reason to cancel the 8th grade advancement. The 8th grade Advancement had been a tradition at this school for many years. I think It is an expected and anticipating part of the the 8th grade school year. I feel that so many students and parents have been looking forward it, I do not think it is a good idea to cancel it now.
To accomplish this I will be attentive in classes, attend study groups and study whenever possible. And last but not least teamwork. I strive to be a team player by giving my all when the task at hand is one of my strengths as to help someone who the task may be a weakness. I have given encouragement when needed, stayed behind during personal time to help recruits study, given boot shining lesions and Ironed uniforms for others that were busy with other assignments. I will continue to look for ways of being a team player ensuring Class 002 accomplishes any mission thrown at
I will understand that every student is different and embrace every challenge. My goal is to strive as a positive role model by influencing moral character with
Throughout middle school and my first 2 years in high school, I’ve gotten mainly As in my classes with an occasional B here and there. So in my junior year of high school, when I heard that I can take more than 1 AP course, I immediately wanted to challenge myself. I registered for 4 AP courses along with orchestra, and spanish on top of my extracurriculars. “Are you trying to kill yourself?” is what all my friends asked when I told them about my plan.
Students are expected to be involved, have friends, get a part-time job, and aim for a good night of sleep, all
To make a significant change in the world, countless hours of preparation, of work, and proactive cooperation with others are crucial for success. I partake in few extra-curricular activities, but I have dedicated years of my life to them all. On a regular week, I have to balance French club and National French Honor Society secretary duties, community service for National Honor Society, and additional choir practice for at least two hours after school each week (while sometimes performing community service with the choir as well). I want to become an engineer; so I take AP classes that are useful and interest me because I will need to know advanced math and science concepts in college. All of these extra-curricular activities and academics will become even more relevant when it is time for me to advance my future goals of pursuing a higher education and making significant efforts to aid the world by designing helpful technology with medical applications.
Future College 101 Student Dear future college 101 student, the four following ground rules I am going to talk about are going to help you be successful in college 101. First, show up to class, the instructors understand if you cannot be there under emergency circumstances, but not showing up because of laziness is absolutely no excuse and shows little maturity. Showing up to class is the easiest part and instructors appreciate having all of their students present.
Needless to say, no one wants to be that person. So students take it upon themselves to show that they want to be there and come prepared. This type of attitude continues throughout students’
I should follow directions the first time they are given because if I don’t I will have to suffer the consequences like writing this essay over again because I tried to plagiarize the first time. By the way thank you for giving me another chance to write this essay and make a grade because I don’t deserve it. I 've learn that following directions is the easiest way not to get in trouble. If you just follow directions then you won 't have any problems. Directions and rules are made to keep us safe, although you might not like them you have to follow them to become successful.
Physical education would start in just about 1820 when schools focused on gymnastics, hygiene training and care and development of the human body. By the year 1950, over 400 institutes had introduced majors in physical education. Colleges were encouraged to focus on intramural sports particularly track, field and football. But now, in the 21st Century schools are starting to rethink if they should have it in their curriculum. In our era right now children are becoming more obese and overweight than ever due to all of the electronic distractions in today 's society.
First one is “everyone must have the freedom to communicate with anyone”, because the most efficient way to deal with numerous problems is to trust people to work out the difficulties directly with each other without having to check for permission. Second principle is “it must be safe for everyone to offer ideas”, Pixar make a concerted effort to make it safe to criticize by showing what they liked and did not like with the explanation why. The third principle is “we must stay close to innovations happening in the academic community” in order to reinforce the mind-set to improve their

Having determination means that if you get assigned a really hard essay or project, that you will push yourself to do it, and do it well, until it is complete. After your school years, you are going to be assigned difficult tasks by your employer, but you cannot just give up. You have to keep on trying, because in the real world the consequences may be worse than getting a bad grade. Organization plays a key role in being an honors student, because if you’re not organized, things might get a little messy. A person needs to be able to know where things are and be on top of their work to be successful.
