Huge semiconductor corporations have stormed China putting up state of the art manufacturing facility and thus capturing market share not only locally but foreign customers as well. Because of the facilitation incentives offered by the Chinese government as well as its low labor cost, the operating expenses has been very competitive driving firms outside to improve their cost structure. Plant efficiency has been a driving factor in improving profitability of a manufacturing company. In order to be competitive given the situation, productivity has to be increased, improvement in utilization and efficiency, reduction in cycle time and greater control on product quality.
