Ladies and Gentlemen
On behalf of the Hong Kong Government, I would like to express my gratitude to all the representatives from all sectors of the community to be involved in this meeting.
I thank all of you for allowing me to host my speech at short notice to clarify on the current SARS rumours going on in our society.
The SARS first struck human beings in 2002, the 16th of November in Chancheng district, located in Foshan City of Guangdong province, People’s Republic of China. This affects people’s health greatly especially in the climate of spring. Due to all these circumstances, low awareness of personal hygiene and insufficient medical devices might be the possible reason for the nuisance SARS brought to the Guangdong province.
In Hong Kong, we have the most advanced medical knowledge and the best medical team to deal with any emergency issues. Even if SARS DO attacks Hong Kong, we have confidence to overcome and fully deal with the problem we are facing.
As for the rumours that were going around the city, about SARS is spreading across the city, are fake and untrue statements. There are no evidences proving the presence of life threat to the people due of SARS. Like all other common diseases, SARS is neither a deadly or terrifying disease. It’s just a flu that happens to appear this spring. Spring used to be a season where people’s immune system becomes weaker due to rapid temperature change, it is also a season when diseases develops and manipulates the best. This is the main reason why SARS could do so much harm to our society.
Due to the insignificant damage of SARS to citizens, all schools would be opened as planned after the holidays, and no other special arrangements would be needed for the issue of

A team of medical experts are having medical researches on SARS, and there are no evidence proving vinegar could help. On the other hand, taking traditional Chinese anti-flu medicine is far too dangerous because we don’t know the contents and the relative dosage for different individuals. Excluding the fact that it does help, health condition of each individual are different, mistaking an excessive or insufficient amount of medicine would be either harmful or

Summary on ”Mumps outbreak 2017-is it a threat?” This article, “Mumps outbreak 2017-is it a threat?” is about the highly contagious disease (the mumps). The mumps is a disease spread by coughing, sneezing, and the contact of each other’s saliva.
In working together as one, there are numerous things that need to be done. Namely, “appointing a health officer, co-operating with the committee”, and that there is little contact between the sick and healthy, etc. If this is not accomplished, then there will be nothing done to stop the contagion from coming to this town. Essentially, a huge sense of urgency will sweep over the
After this, units implemented a quarantine process, in which the victims were going to be “properly” decontaminated; needless to say, many of the victims expressed their discontent of being ordered to strip down all of the sudden and were soaked in Clorox for hours. Not only this, but many became stressed because of the lack of follow up from the CDC or medical units after the incidents, one victim expressed that many weren’t given medication in order to prevent the infection, if any. Once again, proving the lack of preparation from officials in relation to bioterrorism
Due October 19th, 2015 Erin Gibbs: 200270053 Dr. Andrew Cameron Bio 222 Written Assignment 1 1. Health officials realized that the mysterious illness was not caused by a bacterium because the pathogen would be identified quickly in comparison to a virus, which is more complicated (CBC, 2013). 2. It was hard to identify the infectious agent because SARS presented as flu-like symptoms with a rapid onset and is similar to the common flu (CBC, 2013). People who had other underlying health problems made it difficult to identify symptoms of SARS because it made it hard to differentiate (CDC, 2013).
Entire town populations were desicrated. Ten million deaths roughly. A recent outbreak occured in the 20th century in the 1960's and 70's during the Vietnam war. As of 2008, a case of a 16 year old boy was confirmed to have the plague and was in the Sarharan
In Rio de Janeiro, the newspapers were only concerned with the spread of the flu (Doc 4). The historical context that this article took place in South America shows the negligence of medical centers. The flu had been known to the world as well as the alarming rate of the spread of it, yet there were no medicals safety precautions being taken place. By time the flu and reached South America, medical facilities had the chance to make safety precautions as to stop the spreading of the virus. The same angry reaction occured in British Samoa as the newspapers blamed the British government for neglecting to issue isolation when influenza had spread to Samoa (Doc
These actions proved effective, and it appeared that the Great Lakes station was through the worst of the epidemic. Officers announced that the rate of newly identified cases was decreasing by 10% every day. The city interpreted these calm reports to mean the city was not at great risk, and was lulled into a false sense of security (ROBERTSON: A REPORT ON AN EPIDEMIC OF INFLUENZA IN THE CITY OF CHI). On September 21, however, Chicago experienced the first significant rise in the death rate from influenza and pneumonia. The city of 2.7 million people sat vulnerable and unprotected.
Whereas this plague normally only affects five people or so a year. It is not very common for humans to contract this plague, but every so often it happens. One of the biggest summer nuisance would be the mosquito, but more specifically the Ades aegypti mosquito. The Aedes aegypti is the vector for yellow fever and the cause of the numerous deaths. In her book The American Plague: The Untold Story of Yellow Fever, The Epidemic the Shaped Our History, Molly Caldwell Crosby presents the idea that the mosquito is not just the only reason an epidemic occurred in the 18th century. This story accounts for the disease that broke out across the world and nearly destroyed almost all of North America’s population, which some believe could have been avoided by simple quarantine analysis and sanitary methods.
The Liberty Loan parade in Philadelphia was in full swing on the day of September 28th, 1918, with marching bands blaring loud music, brightly-colored floats following the bands, and complete with biplanes soaring overhead. The purpose of the parade was to help the government and the Allied troops during World War 2, but the real effect was much worse. Unbeknownst to the public, the large crowd of people watching the parade was one of the reasons that the Spanish flu spread like wildfire in Philadelphia and eventually America, with thousands of people getting infected from the celebration. The influenza of 1918 was one of the most devastating pandemics in human history, and it’s relevant to know how it spread, the full impacts of the flu, and

The black plague was a very successful disease in the mid 1350’s due to the low medical ability and knowledge of the people populating the city or town. I will start off by saying people often run away from the danger to others, where with this you have to stay away from people. If you want to get to switzerland because
