For my Genius Hour project I did the Chicago Bulls team. I am going to tell you about Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Derrick Rose.
First, I’m going to tell you about Michael Jordan #23. Jordan was born February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. He is age 53 currently. In his second season he was marred by injury. He left college after his junior year, to join the NBA. Jordan lost his father James. He grew up in Wilmington, North Carolina. Jordan went to University of North Carolina for college. He went to Chapel Hill, Emsley A. Laney High School. He scored an average of 28.2 per game. Jordan’s nicknames were “Air Jordan”, “MJ”, and “His Airness”. His full name is Michael Jeffrey Jordan. He is now 55 years old. Pippen averaged 23.6 points and 10 rebounds per game. In the 1990s he Pippen teamed up with Michael Jordan to lead the Chicago Bulls to six NBA titles. The Boys of Dunbar written by Alejandro Danois is a compelling narrative about an inner-city Baltimore high school basketball team who became a national powerhouse from 1981-1983. This is “A story of love, hope, and basketball”. Throughout this essay, The Boys of Dunbar will be explained, reviewed and critiqued. In Kobe’s basketball career he went on to win 5 NBA Championships, 1 MVP award, NBA All-Rookie Team, 3 time All-NBA team, 3 time All-defensive Team, 2 time NBA finals MVP, 3 time NBA All-star game MVP, and the defensive player of the year. Outside of the NBA Kobe has won 2 Gold olympic medals for basketball. Ever since a young age Kobe knew that he was going to make it big. He did this all because of his amazing work ethic and love for the game.
Before Kareem Abdul-Jabbar spent 20 years in the national basketball association, he was Ferdinand Lewis Alcindor Jr. born in New York, New York. His father was a police officer whom only had one son. Ferdinand stood 5 foot 8 inches at just 9 years old and by time he got to the eighth grade he had already grown a foot, and could dunk a basketball. As a sophomore in highschool he averaged 19 points and 18 rebounds a game, his senior year he averaged 30 points a game. At Power Memorial Academy Ferdinand set New York city school records for scoring and rebounding, all while winning 71 straight games and winning 3 state titles.

Current Knick point guard, Derrick Rose, turns 28 on October 4th. While Rose's NBA career has plagued with severe injuries, there are many high moments for him during his NBA career. Rose was the number one pick out of the 2008 draft as he was chosen by the Chicago Bulls. The team was coming off a season after finishing 33-49.
The better player of the two is, Jordan. One reason is because of Jordan’s NBA finals stats. He is the only player in NBA finals history to never score less than 20 points in any of his finals games. Jordan led his team to the finals six times and came out victorious all six of those times. He was also named finals MVP all six times.
He was known to be a huge trash talker, Jordan used “psychological warfare” as many players have described it. He would try to get in their heads using harsh insults. Parents didn’t want a player like this to be their kid’s role model. Despite this, their decision to approach a young basketball player for a partnership would quickly prove not be a mistake.
