She was born into the slave trade as Arminta Harriet Ross in Dorchester County, Maryland. Her real birthdate is unknown, but historians theorise it was between 1820 and 1825, considering her death date and the few records they have of her life. In 1873, Susan B. Anthony gave an infamous speech on women’s right to vote. She talks and gives examples of her being a citizen, and every citizen should have the right to vote. She’s trying to show people that her voting wasn’t a crime, in order to convince them that women should be able to vote along with men. She uses a very firm and disappointed tone throughout her speech, more to get her point across to the people she is talking to.

Marie LaVeau was born on Sept 10, 1794 in New Orleans, LA and was the daughter of Charles Leaveaux, and his slave mistress name Marqurite. Marie was mixed with black, white, and Indian. Some people stated that her father was a rich creole plantation owner.

I’m being educated today because somebody voiced an unpopular idea of equal rights for all races and both sexes. If it weren't for people like Rosa Parks or Harriet Tubman, or even Selena Quintanilla or Eva Guzman, the United State would backpedal about 100 years in history. Colored people would still be segregated from Whites and women would still have no rights. The first step to making a difference is by speaking your mind. Rosa Parks a black activist famously known for refusing to give up her seat to a white citizen on a Montgomery, Alabama bus.

In conclusion, the amazing transition for women that have come about over the generations in family life, religion, government, employment, and education did not just happen overnight. Women themselves made these changes willfully happen. Women have not been laid back recipients of these amazing changes in laws and human nature. Women have joined to alter these changes in the most constitutional ways, through meetings, petition drives, campaigning, public speaking, and nonviolent defiance.
