The US military plays a major role in the defense system of the world. Their role can be in the form of military aid, deployment of the military and deployment of the Coast Guards and the protection of people’s lives and freedom.
They do exist! They are a congressionally chartered, federally supported non-profit corporation that serves as the official civilian auxiliary of the United States Air Force. That still meant nothing to me until I learned that they are involved in Search and Rescue and they fly more than 85% of all federal inland Search-and-Rescue missions
The topic of this writing assignment is the Brigade Aviation Element. In today’s day and age, waging a war has never been more complex for commanders. In an ever-evolving battlefield advanced weapons, assets, technology, and information have become both a blessing and a curse to commanders. In a high-paced unforgiving environment, commanders are required to make accurate effective decisions at a moment’s notice. One of the greatest challenges for ground force commanders has been effectively utilizing Army aviation assets in coordination with the ground effort. As aviation is the number one force multiplier on today’s battlefield Brigade Aviation Elements (BAE) were incorporated into all Brigade Combat Teams (BCT) starting in 2006,
Shortly following the conclusion of the United States’ conflict in Korea, the American military once again deployed its service members to Eastern Asia to combat and contain the spread of Communism; this time in the form of the Democratic Republic of North Vietnam. While the vast majority of the American populace recalls the Vietnam War as primarily an exercise of ground forces and maneuver, an often-overlooked aspect of the war is the significant contribution to strategy and successful adaptation to threats demonstrated by Air Defense Artillery Soldiers of the era. One of the more proud moments for the Air Defense Artillery Branch was their pivotal role in the Vietnam War. From the branch’s only Medal of Honor winner, to the Duster, and
From 1945 to 1982, Canada looked to become not only trustworthy trading partners with the U.S, but trustworthy military collaborates with them. With the commencement of the Cold War, both Canada and the United States had to stop, control, and protect the North Atlantic Community from soviet attacks and the spread of communism. A way in which Canada and the United States strengthened their relations during the Cold War was through NATO. Since “The USSR pursued a policy of aggressive military expansion at home and subversion abroad,” the United States and Canada feared Soviets would impose communism on countries such as France, Italy, and Germany. As a result, a military alliance called NATO created between Canada, the United States, Britain,
Prior to Russian launch of Sputnik, Americans thought that they were superior to the Soviets.
The history of Air Defense Artillery (ADA) starts back as far as the revolutionary war, despite not having aircrafts to protect troops from. The Coast Artillery Corps was ADA’s predecessor, and was created to protect our coasts from moving ships. As technology improved, so did warfare. The Coast Artillery Corps was integrated into the Antiaircraft Artillery (AAA) to combat from aerial attacks, such as those from German zeppelins. Coastal artillery was chosen because of their experience with firing upon moving targets, and they demonstrated their usefulness at the beginning of World War II
I have experienced many situations and endured a multitude of experiences throughout my life. It is through these experiences that I have been able to learn a great deal about myself. Since I was young, I have always set astronomically high goals and expectations for myself. This was largely in part due to the strong upbringing from my parents, who taught me what is right and wrong, and instilled very strong personal values, along with a continued ideal of community service. These values helped forge me into who I am today. Besides family values, my background begins when I first joined the Boy Scouts of America. There I was taught what it means to adhere to a motto and properly wear a uniform. Although this was the simplest form of a uniform,
“The Way Home” is a veterans memorial monument sculpted by Edd Hayes, and it is located in The Woodlands, Texas, in Town Green Park. Canada’s calls to war have never been because of attacks on its home soil but calls from Britain to support its war effort. During World War I, Canada’s contributions to air forces were as part of the Royal Flying Corps and Canadian accomplishments part of the Royal Flying Corps’. Because Canada had no real air force during the First World War, any Canadian that wanted to be a pilot would join the Royal Flying Corps due to lack of options in Canada. After World War I, Canada slowly began building a small air force of its own that was mostly used for training. This force was small before World War II because the need for an air force was not as visible during peacetime as it was during wartime. Before the war started the Royal Canadian Air Force
The United States Marine Corps is the fiercest fighting force on earth. For years I have dreamt of joining that force. Many people in my family have served in the Armed Forces. Naturally service captured my mind. As I became more knowledgeable, I came to appreciate the camaraderie, courage, duty, respect, and the many things The Corps embodies. Being with like-minded individuals who feel the same appreciation for such attributes as I do, confirms my decision.
The United States has many safeguards that help protect the American people and American assets and interests in the United States and around the world. The Department of Defense (DOD) along with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) are the two main agencies that have been put in charge with the task mentioned above. Under DOD and DHS falls the U.S. Armed forces, which they have a complex structure. In order for the U.S. Armed Forces to be able to effectively protect the nation they have been divided into five different branches, these are the United States Army, the United States Marine Corps, the United States Navy, the United States Air Force, and the United States Coast Guard.
The use of air power as a strategy of war was highly contingent on the development of technology and became more and more significant to wars as technology developed. When compared to World War I, the second world war saw an improvement of technological capacities, leading to an enhanced production of aerial power along with the emergence of new tactics and strategies of war. During the beginning of the first world war, aircrafts were used primarily for military observation of enemy states and did not play a large role until near the end of the war where they were used to bomb enemy territory on the western front. The first fighter planes produced in World War I, was rarely used due to their overall inaccuracy and inefficiency whereas the fighter planes/jets produced during world war II, had more speed, enhanced armoury and were more accurate and precise. As such, the long-range aircraft of the second world war removed the Mid-Atlantic Gap.

Air Defense Artillery systems were put to use during the Vietnam War era. The systems had to do more with battlefields than to protect air bases. The weapons used were to serve as a geographical benefit. Heavy firepower was used to deliver serious land warfare. Methods of Air Defense Artillery systems deployed were executed by a variety of missions. Artillery units assisted in as much as they could including battalions and other companies. Air defense Artillery sections helped defend armor, field artillery, infantry units, and airfields. Weapons were used to fire directly and indirectly, as they were designed to be used for air defense missions. The weapons made and used were the M163 Vulcan, M42A1 Skysweeper, and MIM23 Hawk, meanwhile these
