I watched the film Inside Out several months ago. When I saw the island represented imagination in childhood was destroyed and the character created by the girl vanished in darkness, I could not help but burst into tears. I was astonished by the stunning plot and the details of the changes of the kid to a young teenager. Especially the five emotional figures inside the girl’s mind, they grow as well as the girl and overcame the challenges of life. The film gave me inspiring energy to face difficulties in life. However, when I tried to recalled my childhood, I have no idea what I lost and forgot during the process of mine own maturation. Since as an ordinary Chinese student, I spent all my childhood and the adolescence on remembering knowledge and repeating knowledge in exams. It is only in 2014 …show more content…
For instance, to investigate whether the application of CBL and PBL teaching methods had good effects on the medical ethics course, I designed a questionnaire and handed the copies out among the 107 subjects of the Clinical Medicine majors in Lanzhou University. For fear that the settings might mislead the subjects, I did much research on-line and in the library, via the process of which, I also got how to facilitate the data entry. We chose some students to participate in the pre-investigation for the amelioration of our questionnaire. During the process, my interpersonal and interview skills have been boosted. What’s more, in data analysis, I taught myself some statistics and mastered the use of SPSS to process the data. In order to present a good report, I also sat in on the class about bibliographic retrieval, which helped me significantly. I am convinced that the above-mentioned capacities trained through my research practices will absolutely give me an upper hand in my postgraduate study in
I’m gonna talk about the book “Night” that we have read in class during the second term. The story has for setting the time period of the WWII, in Europe. The story is about Elie, a jew and his family that are facing a lot of struggles because of their religion. Over the course of the book, Elie changes from believing in God to not believe in God. This is important to the book as a whole because it connects to the internal conflict.
Often times as human, we reflect constantly on our actions and past experiences. Sometimes, we regret our bad habits and try to change the ways we act towards certain experiences in life. As one tries to change their bad habits, they start to realize that their actions were a result of something that effected them in life. In “Breaking Habits” by Alain de Botton, the author talks about exploring one’s surroundings and looking at life with a new set of eyes. De Botton writes about the many benefits of traveling by yourself, which helps break one’s bad habits.
I can reflect back on my own childhood much like Graff and what I found is that I can remember essays on the topics of enjoyment for me. On the contrary, I had little remembrance of the subjects that I had little or no interest
What insights have I gained about research from taking this course? The insights I have achieved, there are different methods in constructing a research study I understand more in doing a research exploration, my mentor kept asking me if I had completed the research required for projects for my classroom. I did not understand what was a real research study or someone writing a story from their experiences. I now understand how to look for research studies conducted by researchers.
I learned about Occidental from my family, my cousin Brian Smith is the offensive coordinator for Oxy's football team and his wife Liane Smith works for Oxy as well. When I visited Oxy I was able to experience the school for what it really is, an amazing community. Everyone I talked to, students and staff, were very friendly and made me feel right at home. I was able to attend the homecoming barbecue and football game and it really left me with a great feeling about the school. My main interest in Occidental is that it is a liberal arts school.
When I joined AVID in seventh grade I was amazed how AVID works and how it can be used every day. Not only AVID helps you with your grades, but it also helps you to be more organized and a hard-working student. AVID helped me discover my full potential by showing me that I can always do better. What I mean by this is that in sixth grade I was not in AVID, I made all A’s and B’s. In seventh grade when I was in AVID, I made all A’s.
I would like to be the student speaker because Washtenaw has changed my life in a significant way. I have learned countless life skills from going to school at Washtenaw Community College. By going here, I have gained the confidence needed to move forward in my life. I came to WCC as a high school dropout, with a G.E.D. I dropped out of high school at 9th grade to help provide for my family. My mother was in jail for a drunk driving offense and my father wasn’t around.
Attention Material: Think back to a good memory of when you were younger. Do you have it? Most of you probably had your memory involve family such as your parents. That was not a challenging task right? People who would struggle to recall a good memory would be someone who grew up in foster care.
I evaded nostalgia. Tried hard to forget. But one does not forget by trying to forget. One only remembers. I remembered too well that education had changed my family’s life.
When the film The Sixth Sense, directed by Night Shyamalan debuted in 1999, it mesmerized audiences near and far with its appealing paranormal plot, its deceptive nature and its top-shelf talent from its actors. The film was immensely prosperous and quickly became a cultural phenomenon. However, most casual moviegoers overlooked its underlying philosophical significance. The Sixth Sense is driven by the big questions of life from almost every aspect of philosophy specifically metaphysics and epistemology. In this specific scene Shyamalan relies on subtlety to create a creepy atmosphere of something beyond our ordinary beliefs and understanding.
The Process of Reflection The process of reflection is central to clinical supervision. Launer (2003) describes external and internal factors in supervision whereby clinical practice and sharing skills are external and reflection is an ‘internal conversation.’ Brunero & Stein-Parbury (2008) discussed the effects of clinical supervision in nursing staff and argued that self-reflection generates a sense of self-awareness and knowledge to the individual. Supervisees or students may be asked what happened during a clinical event, how they felt, the implications of their actions and what they would do differently if faced with the same situation.
The writers and creators of Inside Out were eloquent in their illustration of emotions throughout development, and the daily struggles individuals may experience in dealing with their feelings. Although there were a few possible inaccuracies depicted in the movie, a majority seemed to genuinely represent how humans use and process emotions. Even the minute details cleverly displayed annoyances and ironies experienced throughout life and remind the audience of the similarities that all individuals in encounter
Frankenstein Written by Mary Shelley, Frankenstein features a creation gone awry in a classic, poetic piece of literature. Shelley paints a dark, sinister book which hopes to expose humanity as bleak and exclusive. Starting off, a man named Robert Walton sends his sister Margaret several letters detailing his adventure as the captain of a ship sailing towards the North Pole. Walton notes that he met a man by the name of Victor Frankenstein, whom he found stranded after attempting to catch another sledge pulled by dogs on a stretch of ice. Once the crew of the ship rescues Frankenstein, he details his life over the past (time interval) to Walton as he recovers from ailments only partially suffered from his encounter with the frigid weather.
The use of Cadavers in my view, and from my experience of working and studying in the dissection lab of the National University of Ireland, Galway is one of the best ways human anatomy can both be taught and learnt and I believe is an essential aspect of the study of educational anatomy and should be utilised in the learning of anatomy where possible. The active, hands-on exploration that cadaveric dissections provide, joined with excellent teaching methods makes for an interesting yet challenging method of learning anatomy. My first time entering a dissection room, I felt a sense of captivation and was very much in awe. This fascination stemmed from the fact that I, along with twenty-something other anatomy students would be delving scalpel first into a human corpse, and experiencing the gross anatomy of the human body first hand.
Everyone belongs to a social class. Whatever reality you been born in, is going to shape the way you believe and act. Each individual is different and unique, however, is not unknown that the experiences we had over our life shape our identity. In the movie Elysium, the Earth has been contaminated. The rich people flew away to a new land created in the space named Elysium, which left those with less money behind.
