Being a Divergent in the world on ruling Erudite definitely is not opulent, you must have fortitude in …show more content…
In the book, Tris is constantly worried about acting strong and being tough because she thinks Tobias sees he as strong and tough. One quote to prove this is, “He still believes that I am strong” (Roth 85). I can connect to Tris through sports, my dad is always pushing me to be my best and get faster and stronger. Another way Tris is strong is by having courage, one time Tris has courage is when she takes the risk and tries to kill the leader of the Dauntless Traitors, Eric. One way I have had courage, is when I joined new sports. Last year a friend convinced me to join nordic skiing, and I decided to give it a try, not knowing anything about skiing and now I ski on varsity. The last way Tris is strong is when she is sneaking into the headquarters of the Dauntless Traitors, to spy on them and she gets caught, but even though she got caught she helped a little girl escape by telling her when the coast is clear and then she can run to safety. One way I can relate to this is when my friends and I play night games, we often team up and have to watch out for one
Each of the main characters must be brave and overcome their fears to help save Hera. Jason must overcome the fear of losing his friends, by allowing his friends to fight for him, instead of him always trying to protect his friends by putting himself before them. Leo must face his childhood fear and use his pyrokinesis to help break the cage that Hera is trapped in. He is scared because he thinks that by using his pyrokinesis he will kill his friends. Piper must be brave and tell her friends that the giant, Enceladus, has her dad trapped, even though he said he will kill her dad if she told her friends.

⃝I put this quote in because it represents that Sam feels very strongly about the war and what side he was fighting on. Even if he will probably die. 1 ⃝Sam says to Mr. Beach that he is willing to risk his life for his country's freedom. This quote represents man vs man because Sam stating his opinion to Mr. Beach About the war. So Father got upset, and screamed at him.
Wednesday Wars Respond to Literature Essay Have you ever read the book “The Wednesday Wars”, by Gary D. Schmidt? In “The Wednesday Wars”, the main character, Holling Hoodhood, seems to form opinions about people pretty quickly, especially Mrs.Baker, Holling’s new 7th teacher. It begins with Tris leaving Dauntless headquarters to Erudite headquarters and meeting Jeanine. From there, Tris finds out that Jeanine works together with Dauntless leaders to make serums for the tests and have access to the tests and records only dauntless had access to. Later on, Tris suddenly figures out that the serums contain transmitters that connect the mind to a simulation program and it is made by Erudite. And realized how Erudite, with no power to fight, will use Dauntless to fight Abnegation. Furthermore, Tris finds out people are acting like sleepwalkers, getting controlled by some simulation, and Tris, who is divergent, is not getting controlled by that simulation.
One way the characters change their minds about being tough is, in the beginning, they are all trying so hard to act tough. They are all saying that they want to go camping, because they wanted to prove that they were tough. For example, the main character says, “Look, I don't know about you, but I don't intend to be a tenderfoot all my life. Anyway, doing stuff in the city is for sissies. Scouting is real camping.
Key Quotations One of the most memorable quotations in "War of the Worlds" comes early in the novel, when the narrator first catches sight of the Martian cylinders descending from the sky: "It was as if some invisible jet impinged upon them and flashed into white flame. It was as if each man were suddenly and momentarily turned to fire." This passage portrays the initial horror of the invasion, as the Martians' advanced technology absolutely obliterates the humans. The image of men being turned to fire emphasizes the suddenness and violence of the attack, and sets the tone for the rest of the novel.

In the novel Night, Idek shows evil in every way. Idek beats on Eli’s father countless times once to try to get Eli’s gold crown from his mouth. When he wasn’t beating on one of the prisoners he was taking advantage of a young girl at the camp. We see no sign of family in Idek’s life but plenty of evil outbreaks. Even though Idek is also Jewish just like all the other members of the camps and he too treats the prisoners like the German officers would or even worse.

In Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’, the mad dog is used as a reflection of many different struggles faced by specific characters as well as society as a whole. Foremost, the dog represents everything Atticus is facing in the novel. He has internal struggles, like many main characters, such as having to choose between right and wrong as well as fighting more physical things such as the jury. This leads into the next point: the dog represents discrimination and hatred itself in the novel.
Tom Robinson is a mockingbird in that he doesn't do one thing wrong. All he does is provide help to the people he interacts with. That is exactly how he got in trouble. Tom Robinson was helping Mayella with some chores. He was humming a melody and when he chopped up the dresser drawers.
In a world where you are chosen to go to war, Katniss Everdeen is forced to fight for her life in Suzanne Collins’ science fiction movie The Hunger Games. In both The Hunger Games and The Game the characters have to fight to stay alive. By using tenacity, innovation, and creativity they can move from surviving to thriving. Tenacity can be described as the trait of determination.
Therefore, Katniss's perseverance helps convey the theme of survival because without out it, Katniss would not have been able to survive in the Games. Without perseverance, she
