My school would greatly benefit from the application of an honor code as long as such a code is approved by the student body. Such an honor code would bring about students to reconsider their actions before cheating on a test. This is because an honor code has the ability to create a culture among students which discourages cheating. Also, including harsh punishments within the honor code would dishearten students from cheating out of fear of potential consequences. Schools which have not benefited from honor codes are very different from Classical, and therefore do not prove that an honor code would be ineffective at Classical.
Despite all hardships he faces, Mr McKenna does not quit, moreover he meets his goal establishing safer environment, school disciplinary and improving the education. If we compare McKenna’s practices to the book chapter “Becoming a Trustworthy Leader” where the central idea is building trust to make a successful school , it is clearly seen in the movie that he is trying to use different ways to foster trust among teachers, students ,parents and him to make better and effective school.
A quote that I have used to help me through high school at Mountain Heritage High School is “The Point is not to take the world’s opinion as a guiding star but, to go one’s way in life and working unerringly, precisely; neither depressed by failure nor seduced by applause.” This quote reminds me to stay humble and never give up. This quote has also reminded me, in countless situations, that other people’s opinions of me should not define me.
I like to think of myself as a person of integrity. Whenever I have to make a decision, I try and make the best one and I like to think the right one. In this same situation I like to think I made the right one. It seems as the years pass, the amount of high school drinking and drug abuse goes up. The tolerance for such thing in schools is zero.
A number of high schools, colleges, and universities have adopted an honor code to cultivate integrity amongst students at their institution. These principles vary from cheating to tardiness, to plagiarism and have garnered praise from multiple outlets for apparently being successful in preventing cheating and enforcing punishment for those who break the rules. However, others like myself, criticize the honor code due to skepticism in its abilities to prevent such rule breaking, its success in being enforced, and whether it would actually convince a student to not cheat. If Windham High School were to establish an honor code, it would be a failure given that it would not encourage students to abstain from breaking it. Academic institutions
Approving the alternative to keep the nativity scene bulletin board up reinforces Ms. Williams’ right to freedom of speech. By forcing her to take her bulletin board down and violating her constitutionally protected right, it is possible that legal ramifications for the school could be significant. So by allowing the bulletin board to stay up, there is no direct legal threat to the school from Ms. Williams or her supporters who form the majority of the stakeholders. Most community members will be pleased with the school for keeping the bulletin board up as well. Also, the students have the opportunity to learn more about the First Amendment Rights through this
Do your homework, take responsibility for your life and take your school seriously. Not only for the purpose of yourself, but also for America’s future. Make students believe in them self and fight for it, whether they are black or white, rich or poor. Everyone can achieve what he or she wants, but it’s followed by hard work. “Everyone is equal”.
Their culture strongly believe in hard work and diligence over all. Talent is not a consideration to have a bright future. They believe that success comes with sacrifice and it have been proven right by the results that their students produce, making them ranked first in their education
A student needs to be on top of their game and make sure that they don’t procrastinate or get their priorities mixed up. School is first and they need to be ready for what’s in store after they graduate. I would like my classmates to remember me as a person who was friendly with anyone, I wouldn’t go out of my way to start a conversation with a stranger but I definitely would not turn them away. I would most importantly want my friends to remember me exactly how they saw me, whether it was quiet and shy or loving and friendly, I would want to be remembered by all of this and much more. High school really was an experience to remember and I couldn’t imagine finishing my year with anyone else in my corner whom I don’t already have.
My Educational Journey Today I would consider myself an average student. On occasion I tend to slack off but what student doesn’t. At the end of the day, I always try my hardest to be the best possible student I can be but, life isn’t perfect everyone has setbacks but we have to work through it. Don’t take obstacles as a negative switch them into a positive use them as motivation to keep going, Ralph Marston states “you turn a negative into a positive, you gain twice. You are no longer burdened with the negative situation, and in addition to that you are strengthened by a new positive force”.
As Charles Darwin once stated “Doing what little one can to increase the general stock of knowledge is as respectable an object of life, as one can in any likelihood pursue.” Le start with character. Character defines a person who they are, how they think and act and having morals. Having good character will help you to be confident in your daily choices, identifying what is important to you, and most importantly, it will help you develop integrity which is moral code for strength, truthfulness and courage that will eventually build relationship with others and a foundation for success, Second is community services, many students view it as an unfortunate requirement to graduate high school while others are view it as a way to seek to serve others. Serving others will make a tremendous difference to you and to those around you, it will also make life worthwhile. Third is leadership and it’s more than being elected as class officer.
Common Core Standards were implemented as a way to have national standards for all students. This way, students have equal access to the same curriculum. There needs to be an enhancement in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math so that students are prepared for 21st century jobs (Zarra 17). Many educators feel that students are not prepared to compete globally against other countries. However, the United States has always taken a lead globally against other countries.
I don’t really know why I was invited into National Honors Society, for I know I do well with grades but, my grades aren’t what define me. My actions are what define me. Who I am is someone who is always trying to be someone better morally. Someone who is trying to be smarter than they were the day before, even if it 's just a little. I am trying to be an uplifting person and an influence for good around me by do a small act of service every day.
Bullying occurs every single day whether others witness it or not, it is still a scenario and there should be a solution to this scenario. As it was said previously, bullying is not such a huge problem at Madera High School, teenagers will most likely continue being the way teenagers are, and it will probably continue to happen regardless of what is done. The students at Madera High School do not deserve to be bullied or harassed no matter the circumstance, neither should anyone else in this
I will explain how I plan to live by each value. The first value says “I will live by high standards of personal integrity.” In doing so, I will have very strong morals and to be honest to myself and others of the WCU community. I will stand against things I believe are not morally right for me. I will choose a better group of peers and not be influenced to do anything I do not believe is right. I will refrain from any trouble and focus on school work.
