Locus of control are what individuals believe determines the outcome in life. The two types of locus of control is internal and external locus of control. Internal locus of control is the belief that someone’s rewards in life are guided by their efforts. For example, if a student didn’t study for a test and they fail, the student accepts the fact that they didn’t, so they failed. External control is the belief that someone’s rewards or fails are caused by luck or powerful others. If a student doesn’t do well on a test, the student claims that they failed because of the teacher not liking them or that the test was written poorly.
