Characteristics of a great leader - good role model to its associates, responsible for his duties and honest with his deeds. But it appears that the common symptom of the leaders throughout the world is the application of corruption. As stated by Mohamed Mead (2015), “Corruption has been created and nurtured in every level of the government where by it became part of the culture” For this reason, graft and corruption are two of immense words when it comes to politics. As all areas in the world may experience this, it does not only happen in the government but also in people 's daily lives. Certainly, the downside of having less government expenditures is the fact that it will possibly lead to downfall on the economy. Whereas economy is defined as “the process or system by which goods and services are produced, sold, and bought in a country or region” (Merriam-Webster, 2015). Therefore, the economy indicates a country 's overall performance in terms of volume of resources, amount of funds and other related aspects. As a matter of fact, it also comprises the nation 's growth and development. Accordingly, “The Philippine Development Plan 2011-2016 adopts a framework of inclusive growth, which is high growth that is sustained, generates mass employment, and reduces poverty. With good governance and anticorruption as the overarching theme …” (National Economic and Development Authority, 2013). Conceivably, the major problem of a country is the lack of budget for the government 's programs and services due to corruption. Corruption may appear to be a vague word, but tackling it in this situation, it is more defined as an immoral action that takes away money in an illegal manner. Perceiving it as a bad form of governance, this characteristic is something all would come across once in power. They have tried countless ways on finding a solution, yet these variables still lead them back to square one.
