However, I am aware that the beginning of effective leadership would be by developing a vision of the organization where a nurse leader serves. Coming up with a picture of what would be a future of excellence in delivering nursing care in the organization would be crucial in motivating and raising commitment among the other nurses. As a nurse leader, the vision that I would hold dear would be to ensure I have the capacity to make sure that the systems in place benefit individual needs of the patients in a manner that patients are always handled with respect and dignity while the work that nurses perform is respected and valued. For this to be met, there is a need for the nurse leader to assist the other nurses grasp the envisioned picture and remaining at the forefront in directing the others on where to go.
