INTRODUCTION ABOUT INTERNSHIP An internship program is a learning situation where I got the opportunity to learn the various functions of human resource. It has been great experience for me to do the internship on ETCO DENIM PVT LTD. Internship helps us to combine theory with practical experience, it also helps to build professional work habits; internship provides us to understand the professional culture and gives opportunity to analyze and experience with practicalities of professionalism. Its commitment to the Indian economy is manifested in terms of its contribution to the industrial creation, employment generation and the foreign exchange profit. Textile industries are those, which deal with the manufacturing of woven fabrics. India has been known for textile goods since ancient times. The traditional textile industry was virtually decayed during the colonial regime. However, the modern textile industry took birth in India in the year 19th century when the first textile mill in the country was established at Fort Gloater near Kolkata in 1818. The material industry however made its real beginning in Mumbai, in 1950’s. The cotton textile industry made fast progress where in the second half of the 19th century & by the end of century there were 195 cotton mills, but during the 19th century cotton textile industry was in critical situation due to the grate famine and various plants of Mumbai and Ahmadabad were halted up for long stretches. The two world wars and swadeshi movement provided grate stimulates to the Indian cotton textile industry. The integer of mills increased from 195 with 4.50 lack looms in 190 to 257 mills with 17.45 lack rooms in 1921 and further 397 million with over 20 lacks.
