I actively engage in open communication and establish regular channels for feedback and input. For example, I regularly meet with staff members through departmental meetings and seek their ideas and suggestions for improvement. I organize town hall meetings and parent forums to listen to their concerns and ideas. Additionally, I actively participate in community events and work closely with community organizations to build partnerships that benefit our schools. One successful collaboration I have been involved in was establishing a community volunteer program where local businesses and community members provided support for facility improvement projects. This collaboration not only enhanced our facilities but also fostered a sense of ownership and pride within the …show more content…
Firstly, I conduct a thorough assessment of the existing facilities to identify areas in need of improvement or upgrades. I collaborate closely with building principals, department heads, and other stakeholders to gather input and understand their priorities. Based on this assessment, I develop a prioritized list of capital improvement projects, considering factors such as safety, functionality, educational impact, and the longevity of each project. I establish clear evaluation criteria to objectively assess and compare project proposals. I will work closely with the Director of Finance and other senior leaders to prepare compelling funding proposals and advocate for necessary resources. By aligning projects with the district's strategic goals, utilizing data-driven decision-making, and pursuing diverse funding sources, I will ensure the successful development and implementation of long-term capital improvement

“In addition to organizational structure, the people within an organization determine how the organization functions. The values and perspectives of these individuals can influence how programs are implemented, how the organization obtains money and other resources, who is hired by the organization, and what services the organization provides,” (Hardina, Middleton, Montana & Simpson, 2007 pg. 29). The following will analyze the Saginaw Intermediate School District (Saginaw ISD) and their ability to meet the needs of those people it serves as well as those individuals they employ. As a result, my school building’s student achievement goals are aligned to the district goals. My building’s student improvement goals reflect: • 100% of our students will make a year’s growth in
My principal, Dr. Grant Bell, is aware of how his presence in the school building make a difference for the teachers, students, and visitors that enter the school and therefore he is intentional with his actions. He walks the halls during transition times in order to interact with the students, but also to tell the teachers that he is grateful for the time and dedication to the school. Many times he can be seen in the lunchroom visiting with the students to hear about their day. To some, this may seem like a small, irrelevant task but to the people in the school, it goes a long way. His effort to tell everyone how he is proud and thankful to spend each day with them can often be the difference between a good day and a bad day.
As a member of Key Club I was a strong contributor to the volunteer opportunities that arose, (i.e. Beach Cleanup, Trick or Treat for UNICEF). In my third year of high school, I became the secretary of the School Improvement Committee. As the secretary, I was responsible for making sure all of the meetings ran smoothly and were recorded for future use. Along with these club activities, I have volunteered for many of the teachers and staff in the school. Such activities included filing, running papers to classrooms, and helping out during school activities.
Other than participatie in school activities, I help out with my community. Through National Honor Society, we are able to find more ways to help with the
Volunteering time at church and school have become a major part of what I do. The youth group I belong to at St. Thomas UCC collects items and put together hygiene bags for the YWCA. For school, I often volunteer to help with the bands, working in the kitchen for Indoor Drumline shows and helping to set up the Craft Show. I also assist my classmates if they request it. If a student is absent, I will take responsibility to send them notes they may have missed in class, and also what they homework is so they can attempt to do it.
It was especially rewarding to see the outcome of the efforts, and play an instrumental role in bringing the resources to my

That helps me being in my position because as the head of all the student body, I need to communicate with my other ASB counterparts but also voice opinions from the student body and be the voice to the faculty and district to let them know all the ideas and things our student body wants to do. Adding on, being vocal helps by spreading messages from Leadership to the Student Body if there is something coming up or if we need their feedback I can communicate with them to get the best possible decision. Another quality I have that I bring to the table is being able to listen as well. This helps me in the position of ASB President because as well as being vocal as the head of the school but I also know how to not be vocal all the time and just listen to others ideas and to get feedback and criticism openly.
Community building includes working closely with teachers and administrators, the school board, and the various citizen groups that comprise the larger community. This work requires both the political acumen implied in the role of superintendent as democratic leader and the academic skills of the applied social scientist. An important responsibility of democratic leadership is to garner the resources to support district initiatives (Grogan & Brunner, 2005b). Scholars in public education (e.g., Hanson, 2003; Wirt & Kirst, 2001) recognize that even the best education policies usually prove to be ineffective when they are unacceptable to the public. Kowalski (2005a) argue that policy and politics are inextricably joined in a democracy; a reality that promotes democratic administration.
I am always open to helping anyone that needs it. Last year, during many music concerts I worked helping behind the scenes. I helped set up between concerts and directed parents and little kids to where they needed to be. Another way I help out in the community is always being open to taking the work off of teachers that are needing help, being able to make one small difference is what makes a bigger impact at the end of the
I have been a member of the staff for five years now. My duties as a member are planning and teaching an innovative lesson once a week. I teach them every Sunday. The children I teach range from the ages of three to twelve. When I arrange these lessons out I have the role of a teacher in school.
