Congress is a powerful entity of the United State government, but what influences their voting behaviour, and why are they so powerful? There are many factors which sway how the members of congress vote. These factors include party affiliation, reelection, as well as individual political beliefs. Racial profiling is a very important issue that individuals in society face every day. This problem occurs in low income or poverty-stricken areas throughout cities and communities across the nation. Hundreds of anecdotal testimonials allege that law enforcement officials at all levels of government are infringing upon the constitutional rights and civil liberties of racial and ethnic minorities through a practice called “racial profiling” (Ward, 2002). So what is racial profiling? According to the National Institute of Justice, racial profiling by law enforcement is commonly defined as a practice that targets people for suspicion of crime based on their race, ethnicity, religion or national origin (National Institute of Justice, 2013).

Racial profiling can cause multiple problems. Several law enforcement agencies have gone through expensive litigation over civil rights concerns. Police-citizen relations in those communities have been strained, making policing all the more challenging. Most importantly, racial profiling is unlikely to be an effective policing strategy as criminals can simply shift their activities outside the profile (e.g., if racial profiling begins with police stopping black males in their teens and twenties. The "cumulative impact of racial discrimination accounts for the special, way that blacks have of looking at and evaluating" their experiences in public encounters (Feagin, 1991:115).

The use of racial profiling has caused major issues and has had a huge impact among our nation. This has influenced a lot of hate and killing towards different type of race, religion, etc. groups. Law enforcement has become ineffective due to racial profiling. Statistics have shown some situations of racial profiling.

The intention of my research is to expose the racist tactics in the criminal justice system that have been camouflaged. I am prepared to explain how racism contributes to the vast number of incarcerated African Americans, and other minorities. The criminal justice system has created and perpetuated racial hierarchy in the United States, and has done so throughout history. I propose the question: Are minorities being targeted within the Criminal Justice System? African Americans are criminalized and targeted because of their skin color, and it is not fair.

In the eyes of Martin Luther King Jr., Justice within a society is achieved through the implementation of just laws. Furthermore, “just laws are regulations that have been created by man that follow the laws of God for man” (“Clergymen’s Letter”). Any law that does not correspond with the ideals of God and morality are considered to be unjust or a form of injustice. King identifies that injustice is clearly evident within the justice system. This injustice can truly be seen through the misconduct imposed toward the African American community.

Important linkage institutions include political parties, lobbies, special interest groups, and clubs and benevolent organizations. Interest groups and lobbyists have been the subject of political controversy in recent years. Lobbyists are paid representatives of interest groups. (10 points) 2.

Campaign finance reform, involves the political effort throughout the United States of America in order to make a change. For example change in the involvement of money invested into politics, more specifically in political campaigns. The history of the campaign reform started back with President Jackson and continued to be an issue up until the Citizen United versus the FEC in 2010. The issue comes down to money in politics. Some might agree with, money is a corrupting influence that leads to what is known as quid pro quo, the corrupting influence money has on politicians by getting the politicians to do them things in favor.

Thesis In our generation of black teens, racism has had the most detrimental effects on them. African americans have delt with years of discrimination and oppression from other races, mainly whites. Racism has brought out protests, riots, and the BLM movement. Blacks and other minorities feel that there is no freedom or equality in America.

“The constant aim is to divide and arrange the several offices in such a manner as that they may be a check in the other.” (Federalist Paper #51) (Doc C) The branches had some control of each other, so they can’t overpower each other. This helped balance the power so one branch doesn’t become an overpowered beast compared to the other branches.

On the onset, it might appear as though the federal bureaucracy and Congress are two completely separate entities, with no relation to each other. However, upon a further look into the situation, it is obvious that the two work closely together, Congress makes and passes the laws, and the federal bureaucracy institutes and enforces those laws into action. Even though these two separate entities have their own specific functions, Congress is truly in control over the federal bureaucracy. Among the several different methods of control Congress employees, there are two specific measures Congress takes that standout among the rest. The measure of control is Congress institutes is Congressional investigations.
