To agree with the poor decision making perspective is to ignore the fact that Romeo and Juliet may have never met if not for that party, the servant not being able to read, or those Montague boys not going. The argument that fate led to this tragedy is consistent with the story. In the final analysis, fate definitely led to this tragedy. Evidence for this would be when the servant who can't read approaches Romeo and says “God 'i' good e'en.
This is because in the beginning he blindly agreed to marry Romeo and Juliet later bringing consequences in the play. Friar Lawrence is guilty because he gave the potion to Juliet and from that event and forward events started taking a horrible twist. All in all, the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare reflects the reality of love and its consequences and it also teaches us to not fool with young love or you can have consequences in your
In Romeo and Juliet the darkness is not always bad and the light is not necessarily good. In the beginning of the play Romeo feels that he is dark, but he bears the light and will crash the party with his friends. By going to this party he overcomes his depression when he meets Juliet. He finds a new reason to be happy. Romeo and Juliet’s relationship is a secret because their families are enemies.
Sometimes, parents make the wrong decisions for their children, but sometimes they over do it and cause some problems. Lord Capulet pressured Juliet into marrying Paris until the point where she drank a sleeping potion to escape it and then eventually killed herself. This is one of the reasons why Lord Capulet is the most to blame for the actions in William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. Lord Capulet was part of the reason why the feud continued. He really did nothing to stop it.
Laertes was noble because he died for his cause, avenging his father’s death and defending his father’s honor, but he would not have been had he not sought revenge. Towards the end of the play, Laertes returns from France upon hearing that his father died, but he misses the funeral because of its haste. Furious, Laertes leads a mob into the Castle, Elsinore and, upon finding King Claudius, questions “How came he dead? I’ll not be juggled with” before proclaiming “Let come
The person who caused all of the problems in Romeo and Juliet is Friar Lawrence. In the story The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare The Friar makes some pretty pour choices which ultimately led to most of the deaths in the story. The reasons why I think the Friar cause most of this is because one, The guy faked Juliet's death without informing Romeo beforehand he sent it after Juliet had drank the potion and the wedding date changed. Secondly, he married Romeo and Juliet in secrecy, but neither family gave him consent to do so.
This contradicts with the lovesick Romeo and levelheaded Benvolio, who don't doubt true love exists. Mercutio is a hit with the public, but dies relatively early in the play, why would Shakespeare kill such an important character? A diversity of reasons could be found for this, but first you have to know who Mercutio really was. Mercutio first enters the stage together with Romeo and Benvolio, in act 1 scene 4 the talk about the party Romeo wants to go to, the reason for this is because of love.
After he heard about the red death he locked down his palace to stop the plague from spreading to him. Many rich people have are notorious for having a stereotype of being selfish and uncaring. In trouble many rich people only worry about helping themselves while they watch the less fortunate suffer. Also the fact that he threw a party to show off his elegant rooms in a time when death was around showed that thought he could allude death. Many weathy people feel that money can buy their way out of problems or feel exempt for death.
Supernatural things will leave you messed up in the end. In the beginning of this play Macbeth, a general, gets his fortune told by three witches. They told him that he would become Thane of Cawdor and king. Macbeth did not believe them at first, but when he heard the news he started to.
After Romeo Kills Tybalt in a bloody sword dual, he flees the scene before the authorities arrive. This shows impulsivity because when he left, it showed guilt. This guilt mad him look bad in front of the entire town which is one of the reasons why he was exiled out of the town by the prince. If he wasn’t exiled than Romeo and Juliet would not have died because Romeo would have known that Juliet was alive not just sleeping from a potion. It is easy to see that one thing leads after another and resisting just one impulsive decision could save a life or two.
In the short story, “The Masque of the Red Death” by Edgar Allen Poe, the author uses the rhetorical device of symbolism. In this allegorical piece Edgar uses symbolism to explore his central idea more thoroughly. The central idea is that no matter what the characters did or where they went, they couldn't escape death as death is inevitable. Throughout the story the masqueraders were living life to the fullest, but then they were quickly reminded that morality cannot be avoided. Poe uses symbolism with the seventh chamber, the ebony clock, and the masked figure to expand on the theme of death.
“The Masque of the Red Death” Edgar Allen Poe based his short story “The Masque of the Red Death" on an actual event, the bubonic plague and people’s attempts to cheat death. The story shows the struggles of Prince Prospero’s futile attempts to prolong his life. He lives in a massive palace with many multicolored rooms. Throughout “The Masque of the Red Death”, it appears to take many influences from the Bubonic Plague, an actual event in the 1300’s. The disease portrayed causes you to die very quickly and forms a red blood spot, however; how well does this description sync with the real Plague?
Writers of allegory employ a variety of literary techniques in order to convey an underlying message or theme called an allegorical message. In Edgar Allen Poe’s short story “The Masque of the Red Death,” he employs uncomforting diction to create an objective yet ominous tone; his grotesque visual imagery helps to create a mood of impending doom. Also, by including archetypal symbolism related to the seven stages of life, by personifying death as masked stranger, and by including a universal symbol for human mortality--his clock, Poe conveys the allegorical message that wealth and social status give people the false sense of security from death, even though we already know that death cannot be prevented; sometimes we might be egotistical and forget to help those people that are in need. To start, Poe’s use of unpleasant and bizarre diction in a matter-of-fact tone helps to establish an ominous mood that is appropriate for the story’s tragic ending. Describing the embellishments of the prince’s Masquerade helps to
I believe Poe, who wrote “The Masque of the Red Death” 200 years ago could have been talking about modern day Ebola. There are many reasons for this. First, Poe would not have known about Ebola, since it didn't exist, and therefore couldn't have written his story based on it. Second, the symptoms in his story for the ‘Red Death’ do not match the symptoms of Ebola. In the story, it says there were “sharp pains, and sudden dizziness, and then profuse bleeding at the pores, with dissolution”.
No one can defeat Death There once was a young woman, who strived to be immortal, this caused her to bind herself away from the world for years. She decided one day that she had conquered death by changing her fate and goes to venture the town where she met a strange man, who insults her, filled with anger she decides to go after him where she faces death. A very similar situation is portrayed in “The Masque of the Red Death” with the character Prince Prospero, who believes that he has changed his fate by locking himself in his palace for years but this doesn’t end well for him as he faces death in his own home. In “The Masque of the Red Death”, written by Edgar Allen Poe, irony and symbolism to is used prove that death is inevitable.
