“The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell is a short story which contains suspense and irony from start to finish. It starts off with two characters on a ship, the main character, Rainsford get knocked off and falls into the water. He gets on land and finds a house on an abandoned island. There he meets, Zaroff, a professional hunter. While in the house Rainsford find outs Zaroff’s true intentions. The irony in the book goes as far as Rainsford’s is being hunted in the end of the book, Rainsford not caring about the feelings of the prey, and the setting of the story. In the beginning of the book one of the main characters, Rainsford, falls off the ship he was on. He meets Zaroff a professional hunter and finds out he hunts men for fun. The
