The Iroquois Confederacy, also named League, is the organization of six tribes, including Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and Tuscarora, which lived in the northeastern woodland and shared common culture and language. In ancient time, the five tribes that are Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca, were always fighting to each other. At that time, Deganawidah, a man came from Huron in the north, travelled among the Iroquois and, through roof hole, he saw a man prepared to cook a victim. That man, later in his lodge, met Deganawidah and was persuaded by the powerful words of righteousness and peace from Deganawidah. Consequently, in the time between 1350 and 1600, the Iroquois Confederacy, a league of nations that had the same positive value code and lived in harmony, was formed on the banks of Onondaga Lake by Deganawidah, who was referred as the Peacemaker. Early in the eighteen, another Iroquoian-speaking tribe from North Carolina, known as Tuscarora, moved into the Iroquois Confederacy’s territory and became the sixth nation of the League as a result of escaping their fates being killed and enslaved by colonial settlers. The Iroquois Confederacy maintained their great peace based on the three principles about Good Word, Health, and Power, which were formed by their foundation government with the vision that everyone would eventually live in cooperation and the peace would spreading beyond the nations. Regarding the Good Word, in addition to its meaning of the righteousness in thought and action, it demanded the justice on the balance of the rights and obligations. The Health principle signified the maintenance of a sound mind in a good body and the peace among individuals and groups.
