Who’s to Blame for the Death of Romeo and Juliet? In the play Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare, it’s Romeo’s fault that him and Juliet killed themselves. If he hadn’t killed himself simply because he thought she was dead, then she would have awakened and they could both could have lived happily ever after together. Was Friar Laurence the one to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet? Romeo and Juliet, a play written by William Shakespeare, concerns two lovers from two feuding families, the Capulets and the Montagues. Throughout the story, many characters contributed problems leading to the death of the two lovers, Romeo and Juliet; however, I believe Friar Laurence had the most responsibility in this issue. Friar Laurence was a monk and a counselor who came up with underhanded plots in order to help the two star-crossed lovers succeed with their love. Unfortunately, these plots led Romeo and Juliet into wrongdoings and unwanted deaths.
To start off, the book Romeo and Juliet had a lot of ups and downs for the two love birds till their death. Shakespeare created this play and the words he used had multiple meanings behind them. In every scene or most scenes, a new conflict would arise. Everything in the play was well balanced and for every conflict, there was a resolution. The real question behind this play is who were the people to actually blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death?
One person who contributed to Romeo’s death was Friar Laurence. Friar Laurence married Romeo and Juliet without their parents consent, if he had not done this, then the tragic play called The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet would not existence. Another instance in which Friar Laurence did not think his plan all the way through is when Romeo did not get the message. At the time, there was a plague going on which prevented Friar John to deliver the message to Romeo. Since Romeo did not receive the message about the poison Juliet took, it resulted in Romeo killing himself.
The reason Romeo committed suicide was because he thought Juliet was dead, and her fake death was arranged by Friar Laurence. Another highly disputed concept is that if Tybalt never killed Romeo’s friend, Romeo would have never killed Tybalt, which in return would have prevented the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. In reality, Juliet would have been separated from Romeo indefinitely due to the common tradition of arranging marriages for women. Not to mention, it is absurd to think that Romeo and Juliet could conceal their marriage until death. Then again, it is evident that the suicides of Romeo and Juliet were dependent on each other.
Everyone loves someone they feel they can never lose at some point, but would you kill yourself with them? Romeo and Juliet is a book about two teenagers in love who did not have the approval of their families to love each other which led them to commit suicide. Romeo and Juliet mainly focus on two teenagers in the 14th century who are part of two different fighting families, the Capulets, and the Montagues. When Romeo and Juliet met, they realized they were meant to be together, leading them to get married within a week. Romeo and Juliet's parents were not aware of the fact they got married, so Juliet's father Capulet arranged for her to get married to Paris.
Romeo has done many things in this play that simply could have been avoided it makes us almost want ask if this all is the result of his own doing. For one Romeo was impulsive in his decision to marrie Juliet. He didnt even take the time to get to know her better or think about the outcome of marrinng your families enimie. “Young men's love then lies Not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes.” (2.3,67-68).
The question of who is most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet can be complicated. Almost everybody in the play can be blamed because everybody has pitched in a little. There are many characters in the play by William Shakespeare who wronged Romeo and Juliet. The characters that contributed the most to Romeo’s and Juliet’s deaths are Friar Laurence, Lord Capulet and Paris. First of all, Friar Laurence is responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet because he has done some stuff that Romeo didn’t know about.
Romeo is mostly to blame because he was irresponsible and acted expressively. Romeo’s impulsive manner ultimately lead to the demise of his, Juliet’s, and many others. “Did my heart love till now? For swear it, sight! For I ne’er saw true beauty until this night” (1.5.50-51).
Romeo in “Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare decided to kill himself which was a bad choice because it led to Juliet killing herself. This is because Juliet woke up right after Romeo killed himself and then she killed herself. If Romeo would have waited then Juliet would have woken up and not killed herself. Romeo killing himself was a bad choice because it was an impulsive decision which led to Juliet killing herself. Romeo killed himself because he thought Juliet was dead and he acted impulsively.
No matter the situation, every time something excessively bad happened, both Romeo and Juliet threatened to kill themselves. For example, Juliet is forced to get married to Count Paris but before Juliet agrees, she runs to Friar Lawrence's cell and proclaims: "I'd soon rather die then to marry again. " The very first thought to run through Juliet's empty head, was to commit suicide. Of course, that's not when she did eventually commit suicide.
Romeo and juliet do not have fully developed brains. They are still teenagers, They don't have a full understanding of what love is and how it works. Romeo and juliet were under the stress of their family's. Romeo wanted to get married as soon as possible thinking that their families vendettas would end, juliet agreed and they decided to get married, As with most suicides, there is more to the story than just the ending. It’s never just that they wanted to end their life.
Romeo’s obsession with love started the chain of events leading to all six deaths. Romeo acts before he thinks, causing the deaths to take place. Some people may argue that it’s not his fault because he can’t help how he feels. This is an invalid argument because, while he may not be able to control how he feels, he is able to control his actions and he chose to do all the things he did. Other people argue that Benvolio is to blame because he instructed Romeo to go to the Capulets’ party, but this argument is weak because Romeo didn’t have to agree to go.
Question 6: Of all the minor characters in the play, who was the most responsible for contributing to the death of romeo and juliet? was it the nurse? friar laurence, capulet, tybalt, mercutio or the apothecary? In the play Romeo and Juliet the two main character ended up killing themselves, the reason why they both killed themself was because a series of unfortunate events, The problems started when was when Romeo was banished for killing Tybalt but the reason why he killed him was because Mercutio and Tybalt got into a fight but Romeo tried to break it up but then Tybalt killed Mercutio and Romeo got enraged and killed Tybalt for revenge.
Another example of Romeo advancing the theme is when he kills himself out of grief and desperation for Juliet. When Romeo sees that Juliet is dead, he realizes the only way to be with her would be if he died as well. With this logic, Romeo kills himself. Proving love conquers even death. Without Romeo, there wouldn't be a concrete theme in the play.
