Is winter or summer better? Dazzle of winter, and beachiness (yes it’s a real word) of summer. In this essay I will talk about clothes, weather, plant life, food, dangerousness, and what is the same. I like both seasons, but I was born in June, so I’m a little biased. Winter can provide beautiful snow, and we can go skiing, build snow forts, and ice skating is always fun but… it freezing! Hypothermia! Avalanches! Winter is fun, but also dangerous. Don’t be paranoid, just be careful! Summer has sandy beaches, warm sun, ice cream, and shorts and t-shirts. These are fun but… it can be too hot! Heatstroke! Wildfires!

We have winter break in the middle of the school year for two weeks and we use the time for a variety of things. For some people that celebrate christmas, there are christmas visitations, parties, and christmas day. There are also people that celebrate hanukkah, so there are again visits, parties, and the final day of hanukkah. There are people that celebrate neither, and anyway you celebrate it is fine. Winter break is also used for winter sports. Winter here in the northern part of the US and southern part of Canada, is generally from late November to early March. There is snow and below zero temperatures. Saying that the clothing in winter is… puffy, would be a huge generalization. It depends where you are. Up here in the northern US you have to wear snow pants, a puffy coat, a hat, and gloves if you want to go outside.

Food in winter. A bowl of soup really warms a person up. There can be as many kinds of soup as you have broths and toppings. Clam chowder, chicken soup, tomato soup, squash soup, the list goes on. Tea is very good when you are cold, or if you have a cold. There are thousands of kinds of tea. Then there is hot chocolate. Hot chocolate is believed to have been first made by the mayans 2,500 to 3,000 years ago. The Spaniards came to South America and when they conquered the Aztec civilization they brought it back to spain, where it was sweetened and resembles the hot chocolate that we know and love
