It is an extraordinary honor to be considered as a candidate for the National Honor Society. Being considered means I have achieved my goal in demonstrating my determination- in school and outside of school- and my willingness to aid people in my community. Being a part of such a prestigious organization is an enormous responsibility to which I will fully devote my time. Ever since I was a freshman, my goal was to work diligently to be among the highest scholars and to be accepted into this scholarly “hall of fame”. Through my relentless hard work and perseverance, I believe that I possess the four characteristics of a National Honor Society member- leadership, service, character, and scholarship.

Without ever uttering a single word, Charley Edwards possibly had the greatest positive and negative effect on Paul in the story Paul’s Case. Charley Edwards is a teen performer at the local theater, and Paul’s love interest. In one paragraph, Charley made Paul the happiest boy in the world; but in the next Paul became even more alone than he had ever been. How can the man, who never verbalizes a word, have such a profound and life altering impact on Paul?
Critically compare and evaluate three themes or issues related to the practice of leadership discussed in the readings and set text taking into consideration a Biblical worldview. The three themes that are related to the practice of leadership that I will review are Model the way (leading by example) , Inspire a shared vision (leading continuous change) and Enable others to act (giving others the opportunity to lead and make decisions). In the book the Leadership challenge Kouzes and Posner define "leadership as the art of mobilizing others to want to struggle for shared aspirations.
Stars are not born they are made through the things which make them great. Silas Merritt Robertson was made the star of the hit Duck Dynasty through his humorous stories on the show. His book Si-cology 101 by Si Robertson is a recount of some of his favorite stories which give the reader a peek behind the curtain into Si’s life before Duck Dynasty and how his life has changed since the premier of the A&E show. The book includes stories of his children, wife, and time sent in the service. This novel is great for the reader who would prefer a book with lots of comical relief in some tense situations.
The author James Patterson uses the antagonist to help the story develop and to create character development by robbing people, living in the black market and using people for their fame. This is significant because the antagonist drives events which create the plot and the story. During the story, there is a mysterious guy named Louise. He seems mysterious and tries using the kids for their money, even though he knows he could get in big trouble.
There are different ways to be a leader and different skills that an effective leader can have. The objective of a leader is to effectively guide others to complete a goal. From Stalin’s autocratic leadership, to Barton’s participatory leadership both were effective in completing their goals. Everyone has leadership qualities however, having the ability to effectively lead others towards a common goal is what makes an effective
Purpose of being a Leader “Some suggest that the purpose of leadership is to deliver results through others. Others see the leader’s purpose as developing more leaders. Even others see the leader’s primary responsibility is to make the vision come to fruition. I believe that effective leaders do all these things and more”. S. Throughout the novel, we go through a long journey with the narrator, Christopher. After reading the book, almost every reader will say that the character trait that sums up Christopher is unique. The author portrays the narrator in such an amazing way that the readers can place their feet into Christopher’s shoes.

The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps’ mission statement is to, “To motivate young people to be better citizens.” JROTC prepares young men to have leadership and to have benefits in their citizenship. JROTC prepares young men to be independent to be in charge of others that could benefit others to be better leaders. JROTC provides different activities such as service learning projects, which is a project which gives opportunities of knowledge, discipline, and a sense of responsibility to take for the future. There are certain goals that JROTC wants cadets to accomplish to be a better citizen.
