It 's a sad thing to think about but sometimes you want to consider making the last few days or weeks of a loved one worth while. And that 's what James Calder did for his terminally-ill father.
Calder went big. Big enough to involve the cast of Seinfeld to send over video messages to their biggest fan.
Calder 's father suffered a two-year battle against a rare form of non-smoking lung cancer. Before he passed away, a few days before his 67th birthday, the Calder son asked the Seinfeld cast members to send messages to his ailing father.
He was able to show his dad the compilation before he left this earth. The whole family surprised him with a video compilation from Julia Louis-Dreyfus, John O ' Hurley, Wayne Knight, Larry Thomas, Patrick Warburton, and more.
The cast members did not only take the time to make the video for dear ol ' dad. They were also creative, sincere and interested in the message.
Take a look at some of the Youtube videos below.
John O 'Hurley who played J Peterman was the first to respond. He performed in character and wished the dad a happy birthday.

Next up, Larry Thomas videoed himself as the Soup Nazi with his birthday wishes.
Patrick Warburton then sent Calder a video of him portraying David Puddy.
Michael Richards wrote to Calder saying he 'd rather talk to his dad on the phone and wish him a happy birthday. He couldn 't be led to make a video stating he wasn 't interested in the publicity.
But out of all the videos sent in, the one from Julia Louis-Dreyfus was the most heartfelt. She didn 't portray her character on screen. Instead she went on to describe how he 's so lucky to have a son like James.
Just this past few weeks, a terminally ill Star Wars fan was able to preview an unedited version of the Star Wars: The Force Awakens film before the showing in December. Said fan passed away a few days after.

But, it was not until the airing of one very emotional episode titled, “Papa’s got a brand new excuse.” In this episode Smith’s father comes to visit him after a 14 year absent and promises to spend as much time with him before the summer ends. Of course Smith was beyond excited until his “father” makes yet another excuse. After been stood up for what seemed like 100th time, Smith confides in his Uncle Phil, “how come he don’t want me man?” The amount of emphasis on the emotion in his voice and the tears that rolled down his face sent chills down everyone’s spine.

Donny Hallmark I have the privilege of Celebrating with you the life Donny Hallmark, not simply as a minister of the Good News, but as his nephew by marriage. I also had the privilege of conducting the funerals of each one of his siblings, Charles, Betty, Barbara, and William. I feel that the summary of the speech from “Ladder 49” by Captain Mike Kennedy, for the eulogy for Jack Morrison was that in life it is never easy to say goodbye to anyone. Especially for a firefighter, the hero. Firefighters are ones who help people whether it is in a house fire, a car wreck or another type of catastrophe.
