Shortly after 6 pm on April 4th, 1968, Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. At the time, King was at the Lorraine Hotel in Memphis, Tennessee . As he was standing on the balcony of his hotel room, he was struck in the head by a sniper. The assassin was none other than a man known as James Earl Ray. It is theorized that James Earl Ray had worked alone in the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr.. James Earl Ray was a man known for his racial prejudice. These strong feelings of racial prejudice were expressed through hatred with African- American cell mates. Especially his brothers, Ray and his family all share the common displeasure of various ethnicities.
