The Jararaca Pit Viper On page 26 of his book, The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon, David Grann presents information on the Jararaca pit viper. He stated that the Jararaca is the most venomous snake in the Americas. One bite will cause a person to bleed from the eyes and become a corpse piece by piece. I found this interesting because I had never heard of the Jararaca and would like to research more information about them.
