Description of Events Jason Young, the poster board American teenager you would see in the movies. 19 years young, from Wisconsin, he had worked for a very successful mechanic shop in his hometown. His father passing away at a young age. He was left with his mother and his sister to rely on. An avid outdoorsman at heart with a will to serve for his country and do what the nation asked of him, whatever that may be, he would do it. Larry LaSallle’s characteristics that have been shown in Heroes by Robert Cormier have been major plot points in the story. Especially how he became a hero, motivated the kids of the Wreck Center, was celebrated by the town for his actions in Guadalcanal and then later identified his lust for “sweet young things.” Larry inspired Francis to play Table Tennis at the Wreck Center, causing him to “win” the championship, as he inspired many other kids at the Wreck Center to do the same. Through vulgar diction, simple syntax, and self-appealing diction, Patton makes the army become successful and be united as one, in order to be able to restore the confidence and motivation of his army.

Throughout my childhood and adolescent years, I always had a dream of joining the military. Though it was a choice, I still did not have any inside information of what it would be like, and the requirements and specifics of the Army. It wasn't until 2005 when I decided to join the United States Army that all my concerns and questions were answered by a recruit; and I was guided through the whole process to enter and prep for the Army. If it was not for the confidences and motivation of my recruiter back in 2005, I might have not made my leap and probably would not be in this uniform today. Becoming a member of the United States Army recruiting team means having a physical and mental toughness in order to perform efficiently.
