Jeffrey Dahmer Murder Essay

Thomas Harris once said “I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.” There are so many bad things in the world but according to many, cannibalism is considered just about the worst. Depending on your point of view, it rises above even such criminal abominations as, rape and genocide. Jeffrey Dahmer, serial killer and sex offender, murdered 17 males between 1978 and 1991. July 22, 1991 was the day Dahmer's killing spree came to an end. Tracy Edwards, one of his many victims was wandering the streets with a handcuff hanging off of his wrist. He had been drugged and restrained at Dahmer’s apartment earlier that day. When the Milwaukee police officers arrived at the apartment Dahmer calmly offered to get the keys for the handcuffs.

That’s not even the worst they also found a head in the refrigerator and 3 more in a freezer. Dahmer also had jars that contained preserved skulls and genitalia. Dahmer’s first murder was just after his high school graduation. He picked up a hitchhiker named Steven Hicks and took him to his parent’s house. When they arrived at the house, Dahmer got Hicks drunk and we was trying to leave Dahmer hit him on the head then strangled him with a barbell. He tore the body into pieces and put them in plastic bags and buried it behind the house. After a time period he dug up the remains, crushed the bones and scattered them across a wooded ravine. During the time of his first killing he started having a drinking problem. He dropped out of Ohio State University after one quarter term. His father later insisted that he should enroll into the army. He was posted to Germany shortly after but his drinking problem continued so they had to discharge him. Him and his second victim, Steven Tuomi, checked into a hotel room and later that night when Dahmer woke up Tuomi was already dead. Dahmer had no memory of that night.
