Tomlin, Charles • Date of Conviction: 1979 • Date of Exoneration: 1994 • Summary of the Case: On the night of 12/7/1978, Daniel Stewart, a 25-year-old drug dealer was fatally shot and robbed of nine pounds of marijuana worth $5,000 in an alley in Bakersfield, California. Stewart’s girlfriend, Leticia Mendez, 24, was sitting next to Stewart when he was shot in the face. Mendez told Bakersfield police that the gunman was a stocky black man, about 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a mustache and a medium Afro hairdo. At first she said the gunman was a hitchhiker.

The infamous platform in Oakland, California where bart police murdered Oscar Grant, a fully restrained unarmed African American who was celebrating New Year 's Day with his friends and girlfriend. Johannes Mehserle, the police officer involved in the shooting was convicted of involuntary manslaughter. Thus, having to spend the minimum two years in prison but being he had time served he only would only spend seven months in jail with possible bail. Murder?

This case is about the arrest and sentencing of John Burke who had shot and killed Joseph Ronan. Twenty-five year old John Burke agreed to meet with 22 year old Joseph Ronan at Ronans home, in Reading, Massachusetts on Monday, August 15, 2011 around 1pm, with the intent of purchasing Percocet pills. Hilary Rhoda 's fiancé, who is a former New York Rangers hockey player, Sean Avery, was arrested in Southampton Village on Wednesday, just ten days before their wedding day. The 35 year old player was charged with criminal mischief and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance after he was found carrying acetaminophen and oxycodone during the arrest. According to E! News, authorities said the criminal mischief charges against Avery started in Sept 29. He was caught throwing objects at speeding cars down the street, which lead to his arrest.

In St. Louis this week, Mansur Ball-Bey, an 18 year old, was shot in the back after getting into a disagreement with local officers. It’s said that officers were carrying out a search warrant in the north part of the city when two men ran out the back of a house. According to Dotson, the chief of police, Ball-Bey had turned and pointed at a gun, therefore causing the officers to fire. Ball-Bey was shot in the back and pronounced dead on the scene.
Murder in Licey The authorities seek to attack the suspect dead four people on board a vehicle. Three people were shot dead and a woman was wounded in a car in Licey, police said Thursday, while the gunman remains at large. The murderer approached the vehicle, an SUV, on Wednesday shortly before midnight and opened fire, said Lt. Taveras. They killed the driver and two passengers, while another passenger was injured and is expected to survive. The incident occurred in a residential street in Licey, low-income neighborhood where gang activity is prevalent.

While driving home, Randall’s car runs out of fuel agrees to hitchhike with David Harris to Dallas. While driving, Harris and Randall become stopped by a Dallas police car that was on the graveyard shift and the car was stolen, therefore the driver takes out his revolver and begins to shoot the incoming officer who was by the window of his car. Wood, was working the graveyard shift with his partner, one of the first female police officers in Dallas to become assigned a patrol, went over to the car to tell the driver that their headlights weren’t on. What happened next was the subject of debate: the men claimed to be cooperating, but police charged that the van 's driver, in an act of rage, backed up and attempted to run them over. Identified as 28-year-old Syad Farook and 29-year-old Tashfeen Malik, the couple left 14 dead and 21 wounded inside a packed conference room rented by the country’s public health department. Both attackers were armed with assault rifles and handguns, all legally purchased, and a remote-controlled car with explosives attached. A 24 year-old man whose name Denea Peterson has been charged a wild shooting which resulted in a significant injury to innocent mother and her child. According to the criminal compliant, Peterson was a member of the 10Z gang and he had violent argument with a man who is only identified as OTZ at various locations. According to complain in June 22 of this year at around 2pm Peterson realized the light colored SUV OTZ and his friend had been riding then approached them and began fired gun at least eight times. Most of the bullets hit their vehicle and one that missed them struck a mother and her child who was just walking down the street they were not intended target. Minneapolis police and prosecutor worked with this case in order to bring
