There are many aspects of Jesus and His gospel that I have learned within these first four weeks. The most important, I believe, is found in Alms 13:11, which states: “Therefore they were called after this holy order, and were sanctified, and their garments were washed white through the blood of the Lamb.” This verse meant a lot to me in various ways. They were sanctified. This means that any church leader we have has been declared holy, made clean, and set apart. The more important one for me, as that their garments were washed white through the blood of the Lamb. This is through the atonement. Through Christ’s blood. His sacrifice allows us to be washed white, metaphorically, and be free of our iniquities and impurities. The atonement is everything. Christ is everything. We would be nothing without Him and He would be nothing without us. We need each other. He has provided the greatest gift of all is is everything.

The Fourth Book of Nephi tells us how life was when the Nephites and Lamanites converted to the Church, but it also teaches much about how our lives can be if we live the life and teachings of Christ and will be during the second coming. We have the Holy Ghost. This is one of the gifts from Christ. He left it for us to provides comfort, direction, and personal revelation. We learn in section 76 in verses 40-42 that the gospel is glad tidings. That Jesus came into the world to be crucified for us. That our sins may be beared, we may be sanctified, and we may be cleansed. This is what allows us to return to Christ and God. That we can receive Christ’s greatest gift of the atonement and, hopefully, receive God’s greatest gift of exaltation and eternal life. We learn that through Christ we can be saved.
