The life of J.K Rowling J.K Rowling an author of the genre of fantasy has received her name in the literary world from her writing of the Harry “Potter” series. She has had major success throughout her career. They printed the a record number of books for a first printing, 5.3 million copies (Chippendale 12). Joanne is extremely passionate about writing. Joanne Rowling has had some tough times, but she has also had some remarkable times. J.K Rowling was born on July 31, 1965 (“biography”1). Joanne’s parents are Peter James Rowling and Anne Violant. Joanne was the first of the two children. Two years after joanne was born, her sister Dianne was born. After finishing school Joanne’s parents encouraged her to study French at the University of Exeter, but she slightly regretted choosing French, saying that she would have preferred to study English (“J.K” 1). After she graduated from the University of Exeter, Joanne became busier than ever. She started working multiple jobs. She also supports many different charities. Amnesty International, is one of the many charities, which J.K Rowling has generously supported since she attained a new found wealth (“J.K” 2). J.K Rowling has accomplished a ton in her career. It was 1990 that J.K Rowling first conceived of the idea about Harry Potter (“J.K” 2). She started her whole writing process on a train. J.K Rowling said, “To my immense frustration, I didn’t have a pen that worked, and I was too shy to ask anyone if I could borrow one2” (“J.K”2). She became extremely thrilled at that moment when all the ideas of characters and scenes started building up in her head. Also in 1990 J.K Rowling lost her mother, who died of multiple sclerosis. Joanne was extremely close with her mother, and she felt the loss deeply. Her own loss gave and added poignancy to the death of harry potters mother in the book, she says that her favorite scene is in the philosophers’ stone, which is where Harry sees his parents in the mirror of enrised.
