This is a passage about one of the first basketball players to ever set foot on a basketball court. He was a great hero during the Civil Rights Movement.

Although there are many famous Arkansans, James Black has left a vital mark in the history of Arkansas. James Black was born May 1, 1800, in New Jersey(Lu Waters). The names of James Black’s parents are unknown (Lu Waters). James mother died when he was young, and his father remarried (Joshua Williams).

He Graduated from Elgin Academy High School June in 1982. His family was a military family and his father and brothers served. His father wanted Jimmy to enlist, but he had other plans. He wanted to start a business, his father ended up making a deal with him, he was going to give him $25,000 to start a business, But if he didn’t make a profit in the first year he would have to enlist in the army.

Ronald Gene Simmons was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 15th, 1940, to Loretta and William Simmons. Ronald’s father passed away on January 31st, 1943, just five months and a few days prior to his son's third birthday. His mother married not to long after to a man named William D. Griffen, who was a civil engineer for the U.S

Ronald Gene Simmons began a killing spree on December 22, 1987 that culminated in the worst mass murder occurrence in Arkansas history six days later. He killed sixteen people during this short period of time; fourteen of his victims were members of his own family. Ronald was born forty seven years earlier on July, 15, 1940 in the city of Chicago. His father, William Simmons, died of a stroke before Ronald’s second birthday. Simmons’s mother remarried within a year of his father’s untimely passing. Her new husband was William D. Griffen, a civil engineer employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Army employment took Ronald Gene Simmons’s family to Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1946. Christopher Simmons was not your typical American teenager. Abused and neglected as a young boy, by the time he was seventeen years old he became a convicted murderer and was sentenced to the maximum punishment which is the death penalty. Christopher Simmons was old enough and mature enough to understand that what he did was morally and socially wrong. If someone can completely conjugate up a murder plot by oneself, then they should be sentenced to the death penalty no matter the age. Simmons should have received the death penalty despite his age at the time of the crime he perpetrated.
