In the story Rikki Tikki Tavi, by Rudyard Kipling, Rikki Tikki Tavi must fight two snakes, Nag and Nagaina who try to kill him. They live in the garden and Rikki Tikki Tavi kills them and saves the other animals that live in the garden. The author says “ Rikki Tikki never knew when the hole might open and give Nagaina room to turn and strike at him.” (Kipling 73).
For example, in the book, when Inigo and Fezzik visit they have to go through many hardships in the Zoo of Death. Arabian Garstini, a very dangerous snake, is one of the animals in the Zoo of Death. Suddenly it starts coiling around them “and the fourth coil, the final coil, [coils around their] throat” which is terrifying. The authors use foreshadowing to build suspense in both stories. “Old Ben” build suspense when the Dad says “the only good snake is a bad snake”. “Fox Hunt” builds suspense when Lee appears out of nowhere. Both of the stories also use foreshadowing to reveal something about the characters.
When we think of the 1956 classic “Godzilla: King of the Monsters”, we think of a terrible black and white film about a lizard monster plagued with horrible overdubbing. The audience after finishing the film may feel as if they got nothing from the movie but what they don’t know is that what hides below Godzilla’s faults is an in depth analysis of humans, our shortcomings, and the concept of death. The American remake of the film cut scenes from the Japanese film as a way to introduce Steve Martin to the audience, giving us someone to sympathize with, and minimizing the reason for Godzilla resurfacing and terrorizing the city due to the recent atomic bombings of Japanese cities Nagasaki and Hiroshima during World War II by Americans. Atomic Bombs are only mentioned once as a
The snake was advancing so rapidly it could not halt before it smashed into the enclosure. I leapt off the serpent. A sudden fear washed over me, I just stood there, still. A few minutes later when I recovered from that escapade, I tried to find another corridor or passageway.

This was a nightmare for the military. The men in command didn’t really know what they were doing, and they didn’t listen or take advice to the people who did know what they were doing. One of the very influential commanders in the Vietnam war was Defense Secretary McNamara. McMaster does not agree with the way McNamara went about the Vietnam war.

Trawick Redding Jr. has filed a federal lawsuit against Dale County. The Lawsuit names Sheriff Wally Olson, Zeneth Glenn and Ryan Mittlebach as well as other jail staff. In the lawsuit, Trawick says corrections officers Glenn and Mittlebach brought a 6 to 7 foot Yellow Burmese Python into Dave County Jail and into his cell where they used it to torture and intimidate him. While these snakes are not venomous, there have been several cases of these types of snakes eating and strangling human beings.
The author describes Nag in a very detailed way with words that make a character seem powerful. In the text it says,”Then inch by inch out of the grass rose up the head and spread hood of Nag, the big black cobra...” This evidence illustrates a very power-craving, evil, venomous cobra. When a reader is reading the word “cobra” they instantly think evil or vicious because of the poisonous venom that a cobra uses to kill its prey. So when the author puts the word “cobra” into the text the readers imagine a huge wicked snake.
