Throught the the book John McNab can be a very intimidating, shocking and bold character. He has also shown to be very mean, cocky and bold. On page 23 when Maniac goes up to bat McNab says, “Okay runt, number thirty-six coming up.” McNab is sure that he will be able to strike out Jeffery easily and is not afraid of anything going wrong. This shows me that he is sure he can beat anyone in his way when he is on the pitching mound. Also, he is so confident that he automatically judges people badly the second they step up to bat. Another one of his character traits is that he is mean. Another character traits of his is mean, on page 31 it says that after McNab gets beaten and humiliated by Jeffery, he becomes a bad sport and decides to take his …show more content…
One way he has proved to be one of the most unique characters in the book so far is being so tough. On page 33 it says how Mars Bar jumps down in front of Jeffrey, facing him, “practically nose to nose.” As Jeffrey steps back, Mars Bar steps forward, forcing him down the street and not letting him get away. It also mentions on page 37 how Mars Bar does his best to make Jeffrey unhappy, by trying to trip him, tackle him, and even spray him with dirty water. On page 63 he even writes a sign on Maniac’s house telling him to go home, or, in other words, to get out of the East End. This proves that Mars Bar, unlike many others who are weary of the new kid in town, is tough enough to immediately confront Jeffrey and give him the sign that this is his part of the town, and Jeffrey’s not welcome here. Mars Bar also proves to be very arrogant. On page 34 and 35 it describes how Mars Bar commands Jeffrey to do things, acting like he owns Sycamore Street as he bullies Maniac. It also says on page 36 that Mars Bar takes Jeffrey’s book and rips it, holding it away from him and making him try to get it back. This shows that Mars Bar bullies people just for the fun of it and thinks he’s better than other kids, specifically Jeffrey. Mars Bar also shows that he can be very dishonest. On page 39 after Mars Bar has ripped Jeffrey’s borrowed book, Amanda finds it on the ground in front of the scene
“Being a hero doesn’t mean you're invincible, it just means that you're brave enough to stand up and do what's needed, “says a sagacious man named Rick Riordan . Often times you see heroes on television who have super strength of flying powers, but heroes come in many different forms of people. Irena Sendler for example, was a great hero. Not many people know the name of Irena Sendler, she had done something big that impacted and saved the lives of many jews. Some heroes may be fictional as well.
Although, his appearance fools everyone into liking him. Inside, he is a gruesome beast. McShady has worse manners than a dog, and he is so rude that he beheads anyone who looks at him wrong.
Tim Riggins is your prototypical bad boy football player. He is a womanizer drunk who doesn’t really care about anything so he is perceived as kind of a big time jerk. Deep down there is more to him than what you see on the surface like there is with everyone else. Tim is a big-hearted caring guy who is very loyal to the ones he loves. He sat by his friend Street’s side throughout the whole process of him being paralyzed.

From Georgia to the Belgian Congo, a white southern missionary family during the late 1950’s moved to Africa with the hopes of exposing the native people to the Christian way of life. Throughout the novel, the Price family is met with many obstacles while trying to learn this new culture in which they were surrounded. Many of the obstacles were directly due to their ignorance of the country. A character in the novel, Leah Price, was faced with the challenge of following her father’s will but also assimilating to the people of Congo. Leah was the older twin, and a young, free-spirited, passionate girl who once worshipped her father and believed in his philosophy.
Just reading his thoughts makes you want to sit in a warm shower for extraneous amounts of time. This being said the conclusion I can draw from this tableau is how J.D Salinger saw the world at times. Writing with such detail, making the reader feel the alienation and depression the Holden feels, one
I am reading Hero by Mike Lupica and I am on page 124. The book is about Zach, whose father died in a deadly plane crash. Zach is looking to find out what he thinks happened to his father: The plane crash was not an accident. While still coping with the loss of his father, and while looking for what happened to his father, Zach meets a man, Mr. Herbert, who gives Zach superpowers. In this journal I will be predicting and questioning.
The characters have different personalities and thoughts that make them unique. Marvin is a one-of-a-kind character in the story. His personality is very bland and there really isn 't that much to him. Marvin
In the novel The Running Man by Michael Gerard Bauer, the author captures the experiences of a marginalised character, Tom Leyton. The use of the silkworm metaphor invites the audience to uncover the dark secrets of Tom Leyton 's mysterious past. The introduction of the character Joseph Davidson provides the author with a catalyst to open the metaphor of the silkworm and take the reader on a journey to understand the life experiences of Tom Leyton. Joseph Davidson, who is portrayed as someone with poor self esteem is also described as an outsider. The running man is used by the author to reveal the experiences of Joseph Davidson and demonstrate his growth of becoming less marginalised throughout the novel.
War Changes Molarity Tim O’Brien is both the author of the novel The things they carried, and one of the most important characters. Tim O’Brien narrator and some might say the protagonist. O’Brien seems to be really confused throughout the novel. He has some guilt that he tries to deal with over and over again throughout the novel, but when the war is over he uses his ability to tell stories to help him deal with his guilt and confusion. O’Brien might have been a character that abides the moral code but after entering the Vietnam war, morality never seemed to exist.
He uses his power as an “evil” advantage to make everyone’s life harder and more horrible. He picks fights, extremely rude, and does as he
Because he is so full of himself, he is not a very likeable character. Danforth shows no mercy. He is probably the most merciless
Forrest is also a sympathetic man, especially when he became a father. He notices his disability and is aware of his own limitations, he knew that his son would be much smarter than he does, but he still tries his best to support his son, such as trying his best to read story books (e.g. Curious George) to his son. American people at that time are often prejudiced, especially at the race perspective. However, Forrest is not prejudiced and judgment, he sees people regardless of their gender, race, age, and religion. This is demonstrated in the movie through his relationship with Jenny, he always accepts her for whom she is, he sees past the predicaments Jenny is in, for example when Jenny was singing in a club naked.
