Each unique composer specializes in a different category of theater and occasionally many categories. One very famous film composer, John Towner Williams, is a very significant part of music history considering his family history, adult development, and musical accomplishments.

He was born in Long Island, New York, February 8, 1932, and has loved music since he was a young boy (“John Williams Biography”). His family is also well-known
Daniel Hale Williams was born on January 18, 1856 in Pennsylvania. He was born to Daniel and Sarah Price Williams and he was the fifth child of the seven children. His father was a Scotch-Irish whom has reddish hair and light skin that made him look more white than black. As for his mother Sarah, she was black and Indian with long black hair and darker skin. The Williams were free blacks and they never experienced the life of slavery.
Wayne Bertram Williams is an African-American male born on May 27, 1958 into a middle class family in Atlanta, Georgia. His parents, Homer and Faye Williams, were both well-educated teachers and sincerely cared about their only child; spending whatever money they had on him. He grew up in Atlanta's Dixie Hills neighborhood, and attended Douglass High School from where he graduated at the top of his class. He became fascinated by radio and journalism and opted to continue his education at Georgia State University, but dropped out soon after starting. Although he was very smart and held an IQ score of 150 at the time, he was a hermit.
Born in 1925 in Monroe, North Carolina, Robert F. Williams was the grandchild of former slaves who left home at an early age and ended up enlisted in the Marines. He returned home in 1955, founding and becoming President of Monroe’s chapter of the NAACP where he recruited the working class along with the unemployed to create an unprecedented chapter. “We ended up with a chapter that was unique in the whole NAACP because of working class composition and a leadership that was not middle class. Most important, we had a strong representation of returned veterans who were very militant and didn’t scare easy.” (In Memory of Robert F. Williams)
Although Wayne Williams was convicted for killing 2 adults, the Atlanta Child Murders began in July of 1979 after the bodies of 2 children were found hidden under the bushes of at the side of an Atlanta road. (Biography.com Editors, 2015). For the next 22 months the city and FBI would find 29 victims suspected of being murdered by Wayne Williams a free-lance photographer and hopeful music producer with a criminal record of impersonating the police. (unknown, 2014). 14-year-old Edward Smith was found shot by a .22 caliber weapon and 13-year-old Alfred Evan was found murdered by asphyxiation these deaths sparked the beginnings of a string of child murders that would rock Atlanta to its core.
Paulette Williams was born in Trenton, New Jersey, in 1948. She was the eldest of four children born to Paul T. Williams and Eloise Williams. Her father, Paul Williams, was an Air Force surgeon and her mother was a psychiatric social worker and educator. She lived in a racially diverse neighborhood which included well educated upper middle class black and white families. As a child, she attended poetry readings with her younger sister, another playwright, Ifa Bayeza, which nurtured her curiosity and interest.

Ted Williams had this love for hitting and baseball, but hitting was an art, a form of science that he just could not ignore in his sixty years of playing baseball. Williams took hitting so seriously that, even in the beginning of his career he would practice his swings in-between pitches. Williams had a bit of a cocky personality,and he believed that he should not only be recognized as a baseball player, but he wanted to be seen as “The Greatest Hitter of All Time.” Ted Williams was one of the greatest baseball hitters of all time, who was committed to perfecting his baseball skill and making sure he could serve our country. Duke Ellington was a renowned personality in the music industry, as he was a very successful and notable composer and pianist. He also was a band leader of jazz orchestra throughout his professional career of fifty years; he had been the leader of the orchestra from the year 1923. He was born in 1899 and passed away in 1974. He was a notable figure in the music industry and had an active professional career in the field. That is why his personality is worthy of study so that lessons might be drawn from his life.
Andrew Lloyd Webber has become a household name throughout the entire world. Not only do people flock to see his shows, but the pure fact that people outside of the theatre world know the composer of certain musicals is an accomplishment in itself. He has changed the musical theatre world. Some call him a “Broadway master” because his musical Phantom of the Opera surpassed his own record for the musical Cats to now hold the record for the longest running musical on Broadway as well as London’s West End ( Snelson 1).
In Hollywood, it’s rare, very rare for a name to be associated with as many great projects as John Williams is. Aside from producer Jerry Bruckheimer, I can think of no one but Williams to sit on that throne, and rightfully so. The films he composed for are now either cult classics, regarded as genre-starters or artistic masterpieces. It is virtually impossible to list all of Williams’ scores, specially when most, if not all, are considered works of art that deserves full on explanation of their whys and hows. Having said that, some of his work reached and surpassed your good ol’ epicness level to reach a whole new level. Of those works, the most notoriously known is Star Wars.
Mark Tucker was a professor, a pianist, and an expert on Duke Ellington’s life and his career. He taught at the Columbia University from 1987 to 1997 and the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia from 1997. His scholarly works included Ellington: The Early Years that was published in 1991 and The Duke Ellington Reader that was published in 1993. He was also the co-author of the book Jazz From The Beginning with Garvin Bushell. Tuker organized the article with Ellington’s Early Years, On the Road, Later Year, Composer, Arranger, Songwriter, Bandleader and Pianist, and the Ellington Legacy.

In Daniel’s high school years, the contradictory norm among his circle of friends was to adopt a rebellious style with punk, or straight edge clothing and attitudes.
