In Hollywood, it’s rare, very rare for a name to be associated with as many great projects as John Williams is. Aside from producer Jerry Bruckheimer, I can think of no one but Williams to sit on that throne, and rightfully so. The films he composed for are now either cult classics, regarded as genre-starters or artistic masterpieces. It is virtually impossible to list all of Williams’ scores, specially when most, if not all, are considered works of art that deserves full on explanation of their whys and hows. Having said that, some of his work reached and surpassed your good ol’ epicness level to reach a whole new level. Of those works, the most notoriously known is Star Wars. The Star Wars is an epic space opera franchise that needs no introduction. The movie series has more cult followers than most religions. Beside being the cutting edge of CGI at the time, Star Wars was (is?) a musical phenomena, it is …show more content…
The first three entries are admittedly large budget franchises. On the other side, there are individual films where John Williams did more than a great job and left a lasting impression without any need for repetition. Case point: Jaws. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BX3bN5YeiQs Jaws main theme, also known as the 8th greatest soundtrack of all time, is a simple F and F sharp alternating pattern of Tuba notes. It became the most widely used leading theme for suspense and danger. In the words of Williams himself: “[the theme] grinds away at you, just as a shark would do, instinctual, relentless, unstoppable." Another case point, and in my opinion John Williams greatest composition so far, is Schindler 's List’s main theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNSsv86lsok This one is a collaboration between Williams and Itzhak Perlman, composed by the former and preformed by the latter. There is hardly anything can be said when it comes to the score, to the whole movie even. Once can only listen to what Williams has to offer and what Perlman had to

Her father, Paul Williams, was an Air Force surgeon and her mother was a psychiatric social worker and educator. She lived in a racially diverse neighborhood which included well educated upper middle class black and white families. The character, Luke Skywalker, in the film, “Star Wars: A New Hope,” clearly represents the Medieval Hero characteristics. Luke is a good moral character, he follows the code of chivalry, and he does not have a royal birth. The first piece of evidence is Luke follows the codes of chivalry. For example, he serves the liege/lord, which is Princess Leia, in valour and faith. He courageous followed the orders of Princess Leia.
Williams composes film scores, contemporary classical music, and jazz. His most famous compositions are from very popular films like: the Imperial March, Star Wars; Jurassic Park theme song; and the Jaws theme song. I think he enjoys creating projects such as “Diary of A Mad Black Women” because those type of actions is taking place in today’s generation. He is certain that others would enjoy watching it, that is exactly why he continues to produce such outstanding movies. Even though his creations are very similar to each other, each movie has it’s own unique purpose. Although, the

Most Influential Score: The Gladiator Growing up surrounded with action figures and a father who was into action films involved me watching many of them with him. It was a way for us to bond even though we did not agree with everything. Gladiator was one of the first films I watched with him and we both watch it periodically every other year to remember the times of migrating from India and coming to America where the movie stars in the film reside, it was a dream come true. The scenes of Maximus going through his physical battles was at the forefront when I was a child and the thrill of the warriors causing chaos and fighting to the death was the main reason for watching it, however as I’ve gotten older his emotional battle of avenging his wife and son became apparent and created a situation for
Over the years, Disney has become a household name. Disney is known for producing family friendly movies. Disney released a movie called Fantasia in its earlier days, when they were first experimenting with setting classical music to a storyline. Fantasia movie featured music from some of the best composers of all time: Ludwig van Beethoven, Leopold Stokowski, Franz Schubert, and Igor Stravinsky. One of the featured composers, Igor Stravinsky, gained notoriety through his ability to change the way he wrote his music.
Star Wars is the dream baby created by George Lucas who not only created the story but also directed the film. Usually films are a collaboration effort consisting of a Director, the story writer, special effects, and set design. George Lucas did all these things mostly himself, or direction of how it was to be done, came directly from him. Being soul creator on every level of the film defines Lucas as a true artist and Star Wars as a work of art, an original of its kind. A work of art can be defined by its relevance and effect on society or those who view it with admiration.

George Lucas' Star Wars has been an "unprecedented commercial success in the history of cinema and has made a huge cultural impact" (Feichtinger 28). It is a popular franchise and is widely known all over the world. Star Wars plays a major role in influencing the youth and sending a message to everyone, especially the fans. George Lucas said that he wanted to do more than entertain the masses; he wanted to "introduce young Americans to spiritual teachings through 'new myths' for our globalized, pluralistic millennium" (Burke). These spiritual teachings and motifs are seen throughout the Star Wars movies and they "promote values and worldviews", which are adopted from Buddhism (Feichtinger 34).
Sometimes it takes a change of scenery to start something new. For Tennessee Williams, that came when his family moved from Mississippi to St. Louis, Missouri. The move to Missouri was hard and upsetting for him, so Tennessee turned to writing. He would use his own life experiences as an inspiration of what he was going to writing about. As a result, in order to better understand why he belongs in the literary canon, one needs to know about his life, works, and the common themes.
John Williams worked with Steven Spielberg on the soundtrack score for Jurassic Park, and boy, oh boy, did he do an extraordinary job. The Jurassic Park score is one of the most known soundtracks and scores throughout the entire world. It touches people’s hearts and gets people excited for what’s to come in the future. It truly is a masterpiece on its own, and when paired up with the scenes from the movie, is just out of this world with how much emotion is
Star Wars as all we know is a very famous movie series. There are a lot of different movies and books. If you don't know what Star Wars is, Star Wars is about "A long ago, in a galaxy far, far away," where a government called The Galactic Empire is taking over the galaxies and 1plants by conquering them, the New Rebuplic A.K.A the Resistance is fighting the Galactic Empire. After the Galactic Empire was defeated by the New Republic, many years later a new government called The First Order is creating a destructive weapon that is the size of a planet and it destroys planets with one press off a button. The weapon is called Starkiller Base, and here we were left in the Force Awakens.
Gone With the Wind is one of the most recognizable themes in film history and classic of Golden Age Hollywood. Gone With the Wind is a romantic drama set in South America during the Civil War. Released in 1939, the film score was composed by Max Steiner, commonly recognised as the ‘father of film music’. Born in Vienna (1888), Steiner was declared a child prodigy, composing and conducting many operas through his teenage years. Steiner’s approach to film score composition was deeply rooted in 19th century orchestral style, adopting musical techniques he learnt as a child in Vienna, most noticeably the ‘leitmotif’, associated specifically with German composer Richard Wagner.
